My divorce is not yet final though I have temporary custody of my son. Am I allowed to move within the state without written permission from his dad?

When you say temporary custody, what exactly does that mean? Do you have temporary full custody? If so, then you are allowed to move anywhere you would like to. My divorce is not yet final either, my ex and I have joint legal custody but I have sole physical custody. I can move anywhere with no permission from my ex-husband. If you and your child's father are on decent terms with each other, I would suggest talking to him about it. If it's for a job or to better help your child, he really has no say so in the matter.
