About pre-school?

Preschool is such an amazing thing for a child, I was also afraid to send my son, not so much my daughter because she was 4 when she started going and acted 6 so I knew she would do fine,but not Caleb. He is momma's little boy, and he is one to play by his self, and quite.But preschool has taught him so much, and made him more mature about leaving me. It helps them get ready for kindergarten, and so much more. The first week is the most challenging,but you gotta stay strong, and not give into him. Good luck.

I sent my oldest daughter to 4k & it really helped her to get ready for big school when she turned 5.Im a stay at home mom so it helped her to get use to being away from me too.My son will be going to 4k this year as well.From what I see it just helps them to get a jump start for when they begin school.

Thank u for all the comment. I think my son will have a blast too. After some discusssion with mu hosband, we decided to send him to pre-school in March 2010. It's not too late but I think he willenjoy it and have lots of friends.

It really depends on the classroom and program requirements. I have taught in a preschool for 1 1/2 and our classroom is based around learning through play. We do have focuses for the week and try to immerse the kids language and repetition. Overall the social benefits are worth it. My son goes to another preschool and has developed all around.

Oh he will have a blast at preschool! My son started when he was three and has never had a dull moment. I chose a play based preschool that way he could ease into the school environment, but still make friends. Socializing is very important and preschool provides a way for them to do it. Plus it gives them an opportunity to be away from mom and do things alone. Which, he will have to do next year anyway. It's better to give him a bit of time to start that now than wait.

Our preschool has craft time, play time, story time, snack time and play with all other kids his age in a gymnasium setting. He's only there about 2 1/2 hours so that is a lot of stuff packed in there :D Not to mention its all coordinated in such a way he is learning. They have topics for the month (like parts of the body every day a new part) and letter of the day. He's a bit younger than your son so I'm sure he'll be in a more advanced classroom.

preschool is not just for teaching it also teaches them social skills. it will be good for him to play with kids his own age and it is true once he heres the other kids his speach will improve my son has speach issues and he went to preschool and it worked great!!

I would not worry AT ALL about him getting bored with preschool. It should be a stimulating environment and not boring at all. My 2006 little girl can't wait for school and I would send her now if we could afford it. But, she will have to wait until next year and make do with one year of preschool before kindergarten.
