My four year old wont eat anything with veggies, really any fruit and no matter how hungery just wont eat somedays. i'm lucky if he'lll eat hamburgers, pizza, toast, eggs, mashed potato's. ect. nothing nutritius, no "real" food. he;s been going on like this for almost 2/12 years.i really need some help, i know he can't keep going on like this. i also know he wouldn't have the mood swings he has if he could get more and real food. Does anyone else have the same problem and or have any solutions? Please i really need help. at this point i'll try anything.

My daughter is the same way..... Im also a very VERY picky eater myself ( im a vegetarian but i make many meat filled meals for her as i want her to make the choice for herself..and altho im a vegetarian my diet consists mostly of junk food) anyways..... im not completely sure when my daughter started becoming picky but it lasted for at least a year, shes 4 now...but anyways she would not eat eat, veggies or fruit... she was in fact a mini me and i hated it.....all she would eat was piza, peanut butter sandwichs, chips, fries, chicken nuggets but rarely and other junk food. She aso had horrible mood swings i seriously could not take her out of the house for 8 months in public, we were once kicked off a bus because she was just down right horrible ( I should also say im a single teenage mother and i really didnt understand anything) finally after a mini breakdown from stress i went to 2 pediatricians and my own family doctor, some young parent parenting classes,i also had a like helper nurse, she would just come over let me vent to her and give me ideas on what to do and tell me whats happening with her deveopment etc I spent many nights reserching different recipies, and ways to sneak food into her meals... what i found that worked was letting her see me trying new foods, chopping veggies and meat really small and put them into her pizza sauce or spagetti sauce. makeing chicken nuggets from scratch , and mixing in some cruncy veggie nuggets in with them... check youtube for the one pot chef he has some great ideas.....also smoothies with finely chopped fruit and homemade popsicles again with finely chopped fruit in them... we stopped eating infront of the tv and sat at the diningroom table for everymeal, i would not let her eat anything that was junk foodish...once my daughter started daycare and this year kindegarten tho and she sees how her friends are eating shes become more intrigued with new foods...that was a great and unexpected surprise for me... I stil limit her junk food like extremly, shes aloud one small serving of junk food ony after she eats all her healthy foods and im strern if she dosent eat her healthy meals then she gets nothing to eat until she wants to finish....and shes not going to strave with a missed meal, she will eat when shes hungry......if you need any more ideas on how to sneak thing into your childs meals just ask and best of luck to you!!!!

I have a 4 1/2 yr old too and she is very very picky but i try to not push th food on her as long as she is healthy i mean good on her hight and weight etc she is ok she will start eating more as she grows because i have a family member that when she was liltle her parents pushed the food on her now she is 10 yr old and so over weight and cant control her eating. Like i said before try to make a game and try to eat with her and eventually she will eat :-) my daughter started eating carrots now because i told her that hannah montana eats them that's why she sings like that ( she loves hannah montana ) so try that all you can do and good luck :-)

my daughter is a picky eater also. I give her peanut butter on a spoon and try low fat veggie dip and you and your child plan a party and eat together. My daughter likes that.

my 19 month old son is the same and i have no idea what to do lol but at his age you could give him 2 options and he can pick which one he wants. if he doesnt eat it, it goes back in the fridge until hes hungry and he can have it offered to him again. he wont starve himself his body will tell him to eat. also if he likes tomato sauce or something you could try see if he will eat something with it on the side to dip?
