Has anyone flown with their baby? We are going to Disney in about 4 weeks and I am starting to panick about the flight. We didn't purchase a seat for my 18 month old and now I am not so sure. Any suggestions to make it through the flight without a major melt down. I am worried because he doesn't sit in one place for too long.

Thanks- it's actually only about a two hour flight but I am not a great flier so I'm afraid my anxiety will make my kids crazy. I am hoping he will nap but I am not sure. I guess I'll just have to play it by ear. I often feel like when my kids are going to be horrible they actually do okay (knock on wood).

How long is the flight? Our son was about 15 months when we took a 4 hour flight. We didn't purchase a seat for him either, and there were some tense moments but all in all it went ok. Try make it so that your child will be ready for a nap at the time of the flight if possible. At first, this may make for a cranky baby, but once they finally give it up and fall asleep, you'll be thankful! Believe it or not, my doctor even suggested benedryl before the flight to make him sleepy! We didn't try that though because we wanted to see how he did first. Ask your pediatrician what they suggest. I found that most of the people on the flight were very understanding when my son got fussy so hopefully you'll be lucky too. Also I had a sippy cup for him to suck on when we took off and landed to help him with the ear popping and the flight attendants were nice about getting me drinks for him.
Try not to worry...your child will pick up on your cues so if you relax, maybe he will too! Good luck!
