With Halloween fast approaching I was wondering what some other parents are doing for halloween costumes this year? My son wants to be Mickey Mouse from Choo Choo express. Which is basically just Mickey Mouse with a train conductor outfit on. I actually already have it all taken care of already. Just curious what other moms with kids his age are doing this year.

We always go as something that the whole family can do. This year the little one chose pirates. Pretty easy to do. We also keep all the costume stuff every year and try to switch it up and make new things out of what we already have. That way they go further.

My son went from a police officer to a super hero to Iron Man. We settled for Iron Man. LOL. He'll look adorable trick or treating with his superwoman and super baby cousins!

Derrick wants to be Mario and have his brother be Luigi...but his costume will be $25 and I am NOT going to do that twice!!! I already have a dog for Jakob because Derrick originally wanted to be Curious George and have Jakob be one of his dog friends? But we got that for $3 at the Sal. Army...if he is going to be Mario I was thinking about using his 1yr monkey costume and making a red vest and red cap and making the baby Diddy Kong ... they all play together on Mario Kart :) That's nice you all can make your costumes...Derrick just HAS to have the store bought one ? dang kid!

well my 12,9.and7 year old boys will be going in full camo and face paint. my 6 year old daughter wants to be Hanna Montana which is pretty easy all i have to do is put her in a blue jean skirt and a tanktop and fix her hair and makeup. The 4 year old daughter is the hard one she is wanting to be a vampire. (too much twilight 4 her lol) but that is one costume i don't already have the stuff 4 at home and trying to figure out how to make it original will be fun

my cat costume i made was all stuffed so it stood really well old sock or similar for tail and stitch it to back of leggings or thick wooly tights with long sleeved top with fur stiched round cuffs to finish it off. good luck and have fun. Wish my 3 year old would dress up can't get any thing on him at all. 9 year old loves it but hates halloween its to scary for her so we do our own party at home with no masks or face paints very boring but extreme fun with the secret boxes. (sticky stuff inside one box then some very strange things in others that stick and look really yukky when blindfold removed)

My four year old wants to be a Robot for halloween so I am just going to collect some small boxes and wrap them in aluminum foil...maybe cut out some "buttons and switches" from cardboard and stuff...It should be pretty interesting :)

Those sound like cute costumes. Kids have such big imaginations when it comes what they want to be, whether it be halloween costumes or what they want to be when they grow up. Too cute.

My daughter wants to be Minnie Mouse or Lightening McQueen (I hope she gives up that one, I'm not sure how I would make that)

Cats are easy. A sweatsuit, you can choose which color she wants to be (White, black, orange with white spots(felt), ) then if you want a matching knit cap then a set of cat ears headband (either store bought or homemade) to make ears attach felt to a simple headband. for a face try face paint. the only thing I'm not sure on is how to make the tail (still thinking about that). check parents.com and see if they have a homemade cat costume. Good luck. and the mommy and spider thing, too cute.
