Some back ground on the issue!! My daughter is 4.5yrs old and does not wipe her butt!!! She continuously complains her "butt" hurts, but it's really the front part. Today when I was helping her take her shoes and jeans off before bath time she was sitting on the toilet and I noticed her private area was read and kind of looked swollen. :( She keeps saying it itches (but she only mentions this when she changes clothes), so after seeing her private area read and swollen and what look like some white stuff I called her pediatrician and the nurse said that it sounds like a yeast infection. Told me to put Lotrimin AF on it 3/day and to give her liquid Childrens Benydrl for the itching.
My question is HOW DO I GET HER TO USE TOILET PAPER OR WIPES?!?!?! I can't get her to wipe her butt!! It's not even that she wipes, but not good enough, she doesn't even touch the toilet paper. I've tried telling her that she has to wipe other wise she will continue to get owes on her butt, but she doesn't seem to care. I've also told her to let me know when she is done going potty and I would come in there and wipe her butt. I'm not able to know everytime she goes to the bathroom because her bedroom door is right next to the bath room, and she doesn't tell me when she has to go (I don't want her to tell me and have an accident, I just want her to hurry up and go, she waits till the last minute to go to the bath room as it is). Any one else having this problem w/their little one? I feel so bad like I should be trying harder, but I don't know what else to do.

yeah, pretty much. Some kids get it sooner, and others later. Just keep doing what you are doing and she will get it in good time.

You are doing all you can do. Just keep it up. My little girl was the same and we just kept telling her. She is seven now and has finally got the hang of it, unfortunately some kids just have to learn in their own time even if it means getting a sore botty. Don't beat your self up, you are doing the right thing.
