My step son had the same problem when he was young. He would sleep to hard. My suggestion is cut him off from liquids after say dinner time. If he goes to bed earlier then you I would wake him up when you go to bed so he can go to the bathroom. Also to help with the mess I put Pull Ups on him at night. He should grow out of it.

My son will be 4 in March and he still wets the bed, even if he does not drink at nights. He also wets himself sometimes when he takes his naps during school (daycare). I tried many different things but it works for a little time then he goes right back. He wears a pull up every night but in the day he wears his brief and goes to the bathroom fine. Just hang in there. They will get it, just be patient

Deanna, just put on the pull-ups and wait it out. It is normal for children to wet the bed until age 7. Some kids need more time than others - they either have a small bladder or are deep sleepers or something. One day, my daughter just stopped wetting the bed. I still let her have a small drink before bed if she wants it. One day is will just click. Don't sweat it!

hi, when i started potty training my boys the one thing i did and worked out good is don't give him fluids after 6 if he sleeps at 8 like my kids do. and if they want to drink i make sure to wake him up at 10 or 11 to pee. '
good luck

My son is about to turn 4 in a few days and he does occasionally have an accident at night....
That usually happens when he snuck in the bathroom and drank some water right before bed. So now i pay attention when he goes in to the bathroom. He gets a glass to drink with dinner, which is around 6:30pm and after that nothing else. And i make him use the potty before he goes to bed. He will tell me that he doesn't have to go but when i tell him to go try he will go.

my little boy has just turned 4 and he's been out of nappies at night now for about 6 months and he has accidents to start with but like everyone else says we didnt give him a drink for a couple of hours beefore bed and his daddy takes him to the toilet before he goes to bed which is around 11ish. He does have a drink closer to bedtime now as he does really well and hardly has any accidents but we do still take him toilet but he's really good with it. good luck

I let my son have a drink when he went to bed i would then make sure he went to the toilet before he fell asleep or before he got into bed and then i would wake him up just before i went to bed, we did this for a couple of months he is fully trained and only had one accident the first night we started he also has a cup of tea and a juice to bed and sleeps all the way though without wetting himself its hard to wake them up as they get a little ratty but he will soon learn to hold his bladder all night x

Deanna when my son was toilet training and even now he wasnt allowed to have big drinks an hour at least before bedtime, and if he needs a drink now right before bedtime i ensure he goes to the toilet straight afterwards

Tracy is there a medical reason why your son still has accidents during the night, my friends step son was doing the same and he had some medical problems that took only a short period o time to fix, if you havent looked into this already :)

Well, my son is 10 and still wets the bed. I use pullups to save the bed because I know if I didn't use them I'd get annoyed at the extra work and just make the situation worse.
I leave the hall light on, and get him up when I go to bed, but none of this helps. We've even promised a nice new mattress as soon as he stops wetting, all to no avail. I guess we just have to wait until whatever it is in their heads matures.
There are bed alarms, but I haven't been able to get my hands on one. But, best of luck.

Just watch fluid intake a couple hours before bed and make sure they go potty before bedtime. Also make sure he knows he can get up and potty by himself at night and maybe leave the light on in the bathroom so its not dark if he tries to go in there

My miss who is 4 in june goes to bed at 7 and i go to bed about 9-10pm and when I go to bed I take miss to the toilet. Most nights she will be dry. But anything can make them wet the bed. A stressfull day or worried about something or a big change (sometimes small changes) the the normal ruiten can casue them to wet the bed. Even something as simple as changing the room around can be usettling for them. But its all to do with the brain when it develops the 'dont wet the bed while you are sleeping' and every child is different and you will find with some research it is stll VERY common for a 4 year old to wet the bed. More common to wet then to not at 4 :)

My friend gets up at a certain time and makes her daughters go to the bathroom. You might have to do that and don't let him drink anything a bed time! I know that my son, who turned 3 in September usually wets him self or comes to my bed and tells me he has to go at 3 or 5 in the morning. Ive had him potty trained since he was a year and a half but i would still put diapers on him at night. My son is still in that stage that he comes in our bed in the middle of the night, so when he does I make him wear his overnights! I don't care that much if he pees in his bed because his bed is "pee pee" proof. his bed has the water proof mattress and the special sheet under his fitted sheet. I feel he'll grow out of it and he doesn't wet his bed every night. I'm too lazy and tired on most nights to get up and take him downstairs to the bathroom. It's something I'm working on motivating myself on, so he'll get a costumed to going. Good luck and have patience! He hasn't even turned 4 yet.
