My 3 year old son adhd??

work textures on him..Use different textures such as soft hard rough etc..use household items for these and when u r spending time with him u can gently make him feel these textures preferably u rubbing them gently over his skin.When he is throwing temper tantrums just make him lie on a flat soft surface and with a pillow in between sandwich him with all u r weight he will feel relaxed..and also putting off the lights and having dim lights on will help..i have been trying these.

SENSORY I have a 5 year old and when he was 3 was diagnosed with Apraxia and he also has sensory intragration disorder . Dont start meds unless you have psycologist check him . But youtube has sights that can give you ideas to help calm him but behavieral theropist are great fun too . some things may seem weird to you but benifital to your little one that cant maintain himself. I have 2 weighted blankets and super soft material . I think people think ADHD is the only obviouse choise in hyper children but becarful not to look at other possibilities. The pre school my son is attending wanted me to have my son checked for ADHD because of his hyperness , but what they fail to understand is a child with apraxia understands everything your telling the , they just cant respond to you back its like putting duct tape over your mouth , you hear what being said but when asked to give an answer ? Well wouldent you be anxouse? Mad frustrated act out in class throw somthing? You are your childs voise you need to get answers dont listen to your friends or anyone with out educating yourself first , my son may have ADHD but untill all these other things are addressed the school is just going to have to wait . I have another son that was diagnosed with ADHD he is 15 and now has bipolar and trechatellinimia was he misdiagnosed as a child and did that cause him to have these new disorders ? Looking back I question myself but then I didnt know what I know now. Meds are dangerouse but helpful I see things from both sides now . inform yourself the internet was my friend and still is . youtub has alot of things that can help you . Just look it up and videos come on that will give you vitual knawllage. Good luck and I hope I was helpful.

I have been there!! My son was (and is) exactly the same and he was diagnosed with ADHD and Global Developmental Delay. He has severe language delay. He has been on medication since age 3 and he will be 5 next month. I had to get a referral to behavioral pediatrics and my son is in Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy & Behavior Therapy. Definitely talk to your pediatrician and don't fall for the "he has to be 5 before we test for ADHD" spill... There are behavioral pediatricians who are specialists and they WILL do something before age 5!! Good luck!!
