my daughter is going to be 4 in a few months and doesn't like to wear clothes. when we're out in public or at someone else's house she'll keep them on but than the moment we get home she just takes them all off. Anybody else have this problem or has any advice on how i can get her to stop doing this?

My 3 year old does the same thing..except sometimes its not just at home. He has this thing about whenever we go to a restaurant, any kind, he takes his shoes off. I know, its gross and yesterday at the mall, he took his shirt off in the middle of the play area. It was actually pretty funny!

My daughter is 4. She usually strips & runs around in her panties or changes multiple times. She is an only child. She knows she has to have clothes on in public or while visiting so i don't make a big deal out it. i say let them go through this phase while they"re young & they will outgrow it soon enough. Its thier way of feeling independent.

My son loves to be naked around the house. He is our only child, so I let him at least wear his underwear around, I don't see no harm in it. Obviously when company is over, or were out and about he wears clothes. Perhaps get her a nice little house coat to wear around the house.

I really think it is she becomes extremely comfortable once she enters her home. When did she begin doing this? When did you begin tell her she can't do so?

My son only wants to wear underwear.I dont think it is a big deal-its just his way of showing independence by making his own decision on what or what not to wear.

My daughter is nearly 4 and exactly the same in her words "I like being in the nip". I dont believe it is right to tell her its not right as I dont want her to have issues with her body. She only strips off at home so she understands that its not acceptable in public. this is enough for me. She will eventually grow out of it im sure and untill then i will laugh at her running thorugh the house giggling and happy

My son is the exact same way!! Granted, we live in Tucson, AZ where the temp gets up to nearly 118 during the summer, so I just let him run around carefree and naked while at home, or in the privacy of our backyard. I figured maybe he's just "liberal" like his Mama, lol....In all honestly though, as long as it's just at home, I'm not going to worry too much until he gets a little older. And hopefully, by then he'll have outgrown this "phase"...

My brother-in-law has real issues with nudity...his daughter is 9 months old and he cannot let her sit around in a diaper. He wouldn't even let my sister-in-law take bath pictures. I told him he was in for a shock when she turned 3 and wouldn't keep her clothes on. He said he would chase her around with clothes. I know it's terrible, but I just can't wait to watch.

Been there done that x's 3! I believe it's a rite of passage for every child (at least for me it was). Don't worry, she'll grow out of it. The next phase will be changing her outfit mulitiple times in one day!

My daughter can't go to the bathroom at home without taking her pants and underwear off...and then she walks around the house bottomless for awhile before putting them on. It's perfectly normal. Other moms have told me to let it go or make her wear underwear and she will stop when she starts understanding modesty (around age 6)

my daughter is the same way!!..lol.. i thought it was just mine, but it must be a 3yr. old thing, and aint that weird and good in a way because they only do it as soon as they get home.. so dont feel bad you are not the only one.. my mother said my little sister did the same but they eventually grow out of it.. what i do is remind her costantly that its not right..

that is so funny!!! I have a much younger sister, 13 years younger, and when she was the same age, she did the same thing. she would come home from daycare/preschool, and strip in the middle of the kitchen and then go giggling and yelling throughout the house. The whole family thought it was hilarious and mom made sure she couldn't get outside. Really, we just let it go and she grew out of it. She's 25 now and recently admitted to us that she still likes to be naked. Obviously your daughter understands that this behavior is only appropriate at home since she leaves her clothes on in public or while visiting others. I think as long as she is at home and doesn't go outside just let it run its course. but if you find it hugely inappropriate or are uncomfortable with the behavior set up some type of reward system for when she keeps her clothes on. I hope this helps. :)
