keep the sweets out of the home for awhile so that they are not an option. Continue to offer the foods you would like your child to eat. Refuse to allow the snack food as a replacement for the junk food. Your child will not starve themselves. When they get hungry they will eat what you give them. You have to be strong and not give in. In the meantime you could offer a child;s multivitamin or protien shake if you are concerned about malnutrition. Also - be creative... I used to sneak infant cereal in a fruit smoothie (my kids called them milkshakes) (1/2 cup of plain yogurt - fresh fruit - 100% fruit juice - 1/2 cup infant cereal - 2 tablespoons of wheat germ - blend well with or without ice.

This is definitely not good for your little boy's health. Not only is he getting way too much sugar, he is not getting nearly enough fibre, proteins and vitamins. You might want to do a 21 day sugar detox, supplementing with natural sugars like grapes & raisins. That's about how long it takes to overcome a sugar addiction (or any food addiction). We make fruit smoothies that are even better than ice cream using frozen fruit and vanilla soy milk (which has a bit of sugar). My daughters LOVE them!

My daughter will only eat sausages and minced steak in such as bolognese other than that I cannot get any meat in her tummy. She is very fussy and very stubborn about it and I have been a little worried. But then I remembered my son who is now 9 and that he was very very fussy. He wouldn't touch vegetables at all and for a while lived off jam sandwiches!! But when he started school and saw the other children eating the food and he started to try new things. This is about the only good thing associated with peer pressure I think!! I would cut out the sweets, give ice cream as desert if they have eaten a good amount of their meal, and try using raisins and dried fruit as treats they aren't brilliant for teeth but are better nutritionally..Hope this helps

My daughter eats her fruits, but she refuses to eat meat too. She spent a few weeks with her grandparents and they basically gave her tons of sweets too so now she has a sweet tooth. I don't allow it, though, because it's unhealthy so I just follow Dr. Phil's advice: "Children cannot eat what is NOT THERE." I don't even buy anything like that anymore so nomatter how much she complains and cries for it, she's not getting it.

It's really not healthy to eat all sweets and junk food. Try using the candies and sweets as rewards for finishing his plate at meals or for trying a new healthy food. But best to stay away from a lot of junk food and sweets and only give them in moderation. How old is he?
