I have been working with my daughter since she was 11/2 not rushing her to train but just making the transistion not so scary, she turned three in sept and I ask her every fifteen min if she needs to go i sit her on the potty run the water at a trickle and no matter how long she sits there as soon as i get her pull-up back on her she goes! It is like she holds it till she has her pullup on does any one have any suggestions for me? I had both her brothers trained by 3 and have tried every thing i know plus some!

This is a real simple solution! GET RID OF THE PULL UPS!!!!! Put her in big girl panties. My daughter was 18 months old when I deployed to Iraq, her father refused to potty train her saying that she wasn't ready yet. I came home when she was around 30 months old. I took her out of the diapers and pull ups and put her in big girl panties. She was completely potty trained within a month. Little girls don't like that icky feeling of being wet.

Hi there,

I've just got my son potty trained. He is three and a half. Try putting on a panty for her and telling her that she is a baby and must become a big girl like mommy. It might be messy at times, but it might work if she feels uncomfortable. Try using the sticker chart system and putting her on the toilet with a seat, instead of the potty. It might just work. Good Luck. Remember, each child is different and will go when they are good and ready!

With my daughter I sat her down and asked her "If I let you put your potty in front of the t.v. will you use it?" She said yes. She actually ended up putting it in her play room and started to use it on her own that day. That was 9 months ago, the only accidents happen when she is feeling left out, my son is only 5 months. She only left the potty in the room for about a week then she started using the toilet instead.

My son was 3yr old when he was potty trained. I didn't think he would ever get the hang of it. I tried everything to get him to go. I wanted him to be potty trained by 2 like his sister, but every child is different. Just leave them alone dont push. When there ready they will let you know.

My daughter is the same age as yours and refuses as well. I have asked her if she is scared of it & if it hurts her in some way and she says no. She was offered a vanity set, stickers, a kitchen set and more but to no avail. All I can hope for is that she will be trained by the summer. I am a little annoyed that I still need to change her but all I can hope is that she will do it soon, on her own without me asking.

See I have a 3 year old girl I started around the same time in I had the same problems so, what I did was jus refused on buying pull-ups and jus put panties on her in the day time first and everytime I go to the bathroom I took her and she begin to go. Then I had to figure the night time out so what I did was every hour or so take to the bathroom. Then another way to complete it it she drinks a cup at night u have to stop it for awhile til she gets up herself in go to the bathroom. Basically its team work between the both of yall.
