****Children w/ Developmental Delays on Facebook****

Jessica - posted on 02/02/2011 ( 4 moms have responded )

Hello everyone! Please go to the following link and join our page on FB!! (and also please "like" it too!) There are only around 250 members as of today, and while some of those people represent other countries like Germany, Canada, China..to name a few, there are millions and millions of ppl just here in the US, using FB, that aren't seeing our community page. Please, let's all go over to FB and join! Then share the link w/ friends and family, encouraging them to do the same w/ their friends and family. With almost 4300 members here in our community on Circle of Moms, imagine the # of ppl we could bring awareness to on FB! There are most likely many people who feel strange joining circle of moms if they aren't moms, or if they are dads/grandparents, etc..and therefore, miss out on this super-valuable community...one which has personally brought comfort to me on many occasions.

Who cares about the actual number of members...I care about those families out there, thinking they are all alone...just like the majority of us did and still do sometimes or alot. That's my goal...to let everyone and anyone know they can seek whatever it is they may need when they need it most...right here w/ ppl that have gone, currently going, and will go through.

I need help!!! I had my son IQ tested and the results are not so good. His overall IQ is 76, I didn't really understand why he acts the way he does until now. From what I have been reading he will need support his whole life. His Verbal Comprehension is low, Perceptual Reasoning is low, Working memory is borderline, Processing Speed also borderline..full scale score is in the 5th percentile rank. I wanted to cry..I feel so bad, this whole time I'm telling him to listen to me, your a big boy..take a shower brush your teeth, get dressed..I shouldn't have to tell you everyday. When in reality I do. I want to move him to Smouse but his IEP team is saying no..I'm so stressed out..I don't know how to feel or how to raise him. I can't raise him like my other child...is there classes I can take
