need ideas to create equipment to help children with special needs

I am an early childhood education and care student in canada and I am looking for any ideas you moms have in terms of equipment needs or anything that I could build that would aid in your daily life. Any ideas are welcome from outdoor play equipment to special cutlery or anything in between. I am doing a project to build a piece of equipment for a daycare setting that would meet the needs of a child with exceptionalities and their caregivers. It has to focus on health safety or nutrition.

Check out http://www.southpawenterprises.com/ this is fantastic website with lots of different equipment for all kinds of therapy. There are plenty of ideas there.
