My six year old son has just been diagnosed with ADHD, and this is our fourth month on Vyvanse. I am THRILLED on any advice, suggestions, or support you can offer. This is a new chapter in our lives that we're having to get used to.

Vyvanse - we have already upped the mg a couple times, and he is currently on the 40mg. My husband and I noticed that he seems much more angry when we do have to discipline him. It's like he is about to burst with anger, and will hardly back down. He's a strong willed child already, so this certainly not what we need. Is anyone else going through this??? Anyone try any other meds they thought were better than Vyvanse?? OK, how about evenings. Goodness, you can certainly tell when the meds have worn off. Not so pleasant when you're out and about and the hyperness kicks in.

Suggestions????

Thank you!!!

My 5 year old was on that med for 4 months. They had to take him off of it because his body wasn't handling it properly. He was just like your son but it kept getting worse. they have put him on Adderall 5 mg and it works wonderfully.

my son of 7 also has ADHD and takes medication as relatine, I must say I am very pleased about this medictie first I was against it, but since he ineemt feels much better and he is also much more pleasant at home

maby you can even ask the doctor treated or the medication should be adjusted, something that your child is okay and also will feel better, it can have several reasons maby the dose should be adjusted

My son is on Vyvanse 20mg and have seen good results so far. A little moody sometimes but still looks good. No angry issues so far but he barely started on this medicine. We are trying to change his food choices..... More fruits and switched to soy milk. Every child is different so maybe this med is not for him. Hope I could have help you more.
