surgery in one week .. scared : (

She did wonderful !! : ) .. only spent one night in hospital, to make sure she was feeding good .. and she was! .. tomorrow (one week after surgery) or saturday all the glue should be off her lip and she can have her nummie back and wont need to wear arm restraints anymore .. i couldnt be more proud of her .. she was such a good strong brave girl .. it was 100 times worse for me .. her lip looks GREAT!! .. her surgeon is an amazing doctor .. fixing cleft lip and pallet is his specialty and my god is he good at it .. looking forward to things going back to normal now over the next 24-48 hours .. i miss it tho, right after surgery i had a little break down coz she looked different, swelling didnt help with that but she looks herself again .. im so happy the surgery is over with and recovery is just about over with .. time to put this behind us : ) .. so proud of my little angel : )

Surgery is tomorrow .. having a bad day so far .. she was over tired and cranky but fighting going to sleep .. i want today to be easy for her because surgery is tomorrow .. so tears from her today means tears from me .. but im trying my hardest to keep my composer i dont want her to see me upset .. i do live in canada and yes they supply the arm restraints .. im worried about leaving her, they obv have to take her and go do the surgery but she hasnt been away from me sense birth .. plus im scared to see her right after .. and im scared for her to look different .. i just cant wait for this to be over .. get through tomorrow then get home from hospital saturday or sunday then get through next week .. this will soon be a memory

i find myself looking at the clock saying this time tmw i will be .... right now its 11am .. this time tmw surgery should be done and she should be in my arms and hopefully able to breastfeed .. if not able to feed hopefully be able to be feed via cleft nurser

if my nerves can handle this they can handle anything!!!

It is nerve racking!!! But the docs and nurses were great!! You should get some arm restraints so that she doesn't rub or touch her stitches. Not sure where you live, but in Canada the hospital provides them. Just make sure that you control her pain for the first few days. If you are worried about anything, make sure that you talk to the docs and ask lots of questions. We brought my son home 2 days after the lip surgery and he was so happy (he hated his NAM appliance!) Good luck to you. Make sure you bring reading material to keep yourself busy. Keep us updated!
