My name is Colette Jenkins. I am 31 years old and live in Greenup, KY. I have a son who will be 3 in June; he was born at 32 weeks weighing 1lb 10oz. He had PVL (periventricular leukomalacia) on an MRI done at 4 months old. We just had a new scan done in January and the results are that the PVL is still there. He has a diagnosis of spastic diplegic cerebal palsy. My son, Little Matt, CAN walk, but most of the time he walks on his knees or crawls instead. We have an appt. to be evaluated for Botox injections in his ankle. Mostly his right ankle has alot of tone in it, and when he stands only his toes on that foot touch. Just mostly looking to have someone who understands the daily struggles and questioning your parenting that I'm having with my child who has CP.
