Paracetamol and wakefulness

I have used CALPOL (paracetamol; preservatives are methyl hydrobenzoate & propyl hydrobenzoate) for fever on my 11 month old baby girl. She was restless and awake for 3 hours in the middle of the night! Is anyone aware of stimulant effects with paracetamol or its preservatives???
I have used teething powders which are paracetamol based and they did not appear to leave her wired like this? Help please!!! What is another safe option to use. Please give active ingredient if advise is from outside of South Africa.

Rhona best thing to do is consult the childs doctor.... when medication is involved its not good to self medicate a child or take advise from anyone as all medications dont work the same for teething problems or any other problem... consult a doctor...
