I struggle with teaching writing because of the grading. I can write a paper myself, but I don't know how I should grade my kids' papers. Also, my oldest will be in 9th grade next year and he doesn't like to write. I want to make sure I prepare him for college. Anyone have any suggestions?

I just finished working on a book for creative writing based on a class I am teaching out here in CA. It is available on Lulu.com, entitle Bibliophile. It is very step by step and easy to use - I hope! :) I was shocked when I saw what my son was writing (in a good way!) :) You can pm or email me with any questions!

Here is the link:

Thanks for checking it out!

Have you considered online classes?? There is Keystone High School...I know they have really good writing classes, my daughter is taking one of their creative writing courses. There are a few other online high schools as well, that let you take just one class or more if you like. You can google online high schools....also your local librbary may offer some classes in writing and poetry.
