You can try Gripe Water. It is sold at pharmacies like Walgreens. My doctor recommended it. It has worked for my friends. My son is 3 months old and he still cries for hours on end.

try getting a sling or carrier that lets him be very close to you. before he starts to get fussy put him in it and just carry him around. He'll like being close to you, he'll be able to hear your heartbeat which is very soothing for a baby, and it will most likely lull him to sleep. This worked with both my boys - they just needed a little extra snuggle/comfort. I dimmed the lights, put on some soft music and just paced around the house until they were ok or asleep.

....one more thing I forgot to add...our son also had reflux and spit up a TON....this was also some of the problem we think which is why the pediatrician recommended the probiotic drops to begin with. we used a baby hot water bottle, inclined pillow (for babies that comes with wedges to keep them on their backs), and laid him on my tummy at times to help. just a few suggestions...hope it gets better :)

Hi; we went through this with our son until he was about 2 1/2 months old and it was colic and gas. It would start around 7PM and go until sometimes 11PM....constant crying, nothing we did would help. Are you breastfeeding or formula feeding? I ask this b/c I was breastfeeding and I had to change my eating habits b/c some of what I was eating was causing the gas/colic he was having. I started by elimating dairy, citrus fruits, 'gassy' veggies, etc. and stayed away from these things completely. I slowly started adding things back. I found the best way to help alleviate some of his tummy trouble to be probiotic drops (they are amazing and work wonders!)....the pediatrician recommended them to me and it worked! I used ones by BioGaia....CVS can get them, but you have to ask for the drops to be ordered b/c they don't carry them (you have to keep them in the fridge). You don't need a prescription or anything. If you haven't been to the pediatrician to tell what you should do...these are just some suggestions of what we did from going through the same thing. Hang in there :)

Hi Samantha because my daughters are 21 and 25 years old I am not going to offer any advice. But I will Promise to Pray for you so that you find the answers you need to help your baby feel better.

Sounds like colic...so sorry my DS had is until 3 months old. What worked for us was comfort nursing, swaddling, a white noise maker and constant rocking or swaying (which led to the purchase of a swing). Good luck and hang in there and definitely talk to your dr. ours was a big help.

Some babies have to let the stress of the day out and the only way they can do it is by crying. My son did the same thing from 2 months to 6 months of age, once he could crawl and a routine was well-established those fussy evenings diminished greatly! Just hold him close, de-stress yourself (for he'll sense that), sing over him, or read to him, or just listen to music with him and just tell him how much you love him. If that doesn't help, you can do what I always did - I prayed! I would sit in the rocker with my son, hold him in my arms, wrap him in a blankie, stroke his back and just softly pray - that calmed me down and then he would calm down.

But it could also be the fact that time change took place - dark earlier. Babies adjust to light schedules and just might be tired. :)

I would recommend talking with your doctor. It could be colic or teething or reflux as the other moms have said. If you can't get into the doctor do some searching on-line about home remedies for all three. Try one at a time until you find one that works. They also might have better ideas of what to look for if you find a good website to help you determine what it is. You might also want to just try some peppermint water and see if that helps. But I would really suggest talking with your doctor. I will pray for you to keep your sanity and for comfort to come for both of you.

Could be teething or colic. When a child has colic, they are inconsolable for hours on end. If you think it is a possibility, speak to the doctor, their is meds to help. Hope this helps some. If it is teething, try "teething tablets" its all natural, can find at walmart but u need to know the spot that it hurts on. Good Luck!!!!
