This is what I found, As I was looking, I felt in my spirit to find names with the meanings of answered prayer or faithful warrior. This is what I could find...Congrats to you and God Bless.

God bless, thanks for all the suggestions.

The Women's Director at our church stated that God already has a name picked out for each baby. She has this awesome story. I believe it is true. My husband didn't care for any of the boy names I picked out and I didn't like his. So I prayed one day for God to give me the name he wanted our new son to have. Within minutes the first name came and the meaning to the middle name. The first name wasn't on either list. Remember God has a plan already in place for each and every person so why shouldn't he have the name? My suggestion is to pray about the name.

I went online, and I looked up biblical names for girls, and even wrote some of them down. Is there a particular reason for the L? I am wondering, because if you can't find one, you can do like my mother did, and put two names together to form one meaning. My name is Tracye Cristine it means "Fighter(tracye) of the Christian Faith"(Cristine) I just didn't find any names that seemed attractive beginning with an L.

It may not technically be a name from the Bible, but there is a lot about it there-GRACE! I gave my youngest the middle name of Grace after a great-aunt who was the epitomy of grace. She was the most kind, loving patient woman I have ever known. So gracious, even-tempered-she is who I always thought of when I read about a "virtuous woman" from the Bible. Best wishes! Praying for you! Sorry-I realized after I wrote this that you asked for names beginning w/ L. I like Lydia or Lyric & Livia also. Have fun!

Kesiah from the book of Job. I do believe it can be spelled several different ways, but it is a beautiful name. After all Job went thru, and all he lost, he was blessed with three beautiful daughters, one of them named Kesiah. Good luck!

I know you're looking for an L name but just wanted to share a little story. My daughter's name is Rachel, meaning little lamb. She has a little girl, who we consider a great miracle, that she decided to call Madison which means, daughter of a mighty warrior. Now isn't THAT just like God!

Someone asked about the meaning of the name Lydia. It's Greek, meaning "from Lydia". A great reference for names of any sort is http://www.behindthename.com. I haven't found a site that is more accurate or thorough with meanings and origins. You can easily narrow your search by language, origin (including Biblical names), and gender. You can also search easily by letter. Have fun picking out a name!

We named our daughter Lily. One of the reasons was the beautiful verses about Lilies in the bible. A few examples:
* Songs 2:1 "I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys."
* Songs 2:2 "Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the maidens."
* Luke 12:27 "Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these."

Also, a side note, if you spell out "LILY" in sign language quickly, it looks like the sign for "I love you". :)

Good luck! Figuring out (and agreeing) on a name can be a challenge! But it is worth it when you find the perfect match for your little one.

May I ask why you have chosen the letter L? And do you have a type of meaning that you would like for her? (for example, strength, loyalty, faithful, devoted etc..)
When naming our girls, we found names we liked, then found out their meaning. If the meaning didn't fit what we thought would suit our daughters, we found a different name.
What about some names that don't start with L (which I think have very strong, beautiful meanings)
Phoebe? It means Pure.Bright, Shining
Sarai/Sarah/Sara - Princess
Shelah - Quietness; peace; prayer (request)
Sophie/Sophia - Wisdom (we chose Sophie for our 2nd girl)
Abigail - The joy of her father; the father is joyful
Emma - God is with us
Isabella/Isobel/Isabelle - My God is a vow
Ruth - Friend (a beautiful name and such a powerful person from the Bible)

Hope you can find a name for your daughter. One who's meaning she will grow in to and become a BEAUTIFUL daughter of God :) I find it amazing how meanings of names can actually describe a person :) My name means Sweet Spirit, or Honeybee, and I have had a few people tell me that I have a sweet spirit without even knowing that that's who I am :)
Even my daughter, Sophie, who is only 9 months old, has wisdom in her eyes. I don't know how to describe it, but I see it when I look at her.
Whatever name you end up using, I'm sure it will be beautiful :)

Does anyone know the meaning of "Lydia?" I've seen lots of people post that name. Of course, I'm partial to Laura...a derivative of Laurel.

I believe in praying and allowing God to give you your childs name. Let go of your expectaitons and ask Him. He gave me all 3 of my childrens names and they all came in different ways. He knows what the furture hold for them and how thier name will affect what happens in her life (your baby girl) so ask Him and olny Him and He will direct your path.

Naomi, not only is Hannah Rose a beautiful name, but Hannah's story of faith is amazing, one of the great biblical women and it fits in with your botanical tradition!

I wonder why I didn't know the meaning of Laurel before, that's my niece's name and I should have known that because meanings of names is a hobby of mine. I love that it means faithful! Great suggestions for this mom-to-be!!

Those are excellent suggestions! I love Luz very much, we are a bilingual family and we love Spanish names too. Lydia is one I've always liked.

Rosa I found that such an interesting coincidence, my two nieces are named Laurel Hannah and Rose LeighAnne.

Hannah Rose is a very beautiful name! All the girls that we have in my family have botanical names -- Jasmine, Laurel, and Rose, and it was completely accidental too.

If I were not packed up to move to a new home, I'd locate my name book and help you Naomi! I often tell people the meaning of their names, because I think one's name can have much to do with their destiny.

I can't think of any names at the moment beginning with L, but I will say this: my middle name, Ruth, means "friend to all". My entire name means "Pure/Friend To All/Saved" -- culd I be more blessed?!!

I am one to carefully choose names, did so for my daughter and her three children too.

I am guessing you can find an online aid of some sort if you google "definitions of names" or something to that effect, good luck and God bless you and your new daughter!
