We've been trying to get pregnant again, since my daughter was 6 months old. It's been 5 months & it hasn't happened yet! We are so frustrated! We have more sex than either of us want to...LOL I've even tried this vitamin pill I found called "FertilAid". We are an older couple & want tons of kids (Lord willing). I'm 32 & my husband is 44. Anyone have a secret to getting pregnant?? ♥

I haven't an answer for you but I would say pray. My husband and I are in the same boat as you and yours. We have a two year old, soon to be three, and we've been trying since she was 15 months. I had a miscarriage last year after trying for only a month or two but since then nothing.
I began charting using an online website and doing daily temperatures and so on and found that I ovulate really late in my cycle (about day 20 of a 29 day cycle) which could also account for my miscarriage.
I went to the doctor with my husband to discuss it and she's doing blood tests and things but I think ultimately it's in God's hands and I pray that we'll be blessed with a brother or sister for Shayla but if not then I know God has his reasons.
I'm not saying I won't be upset of course, lol, my husband and I would like six children, crazy I know!
Anyway I really just wanted you to know its not just you and to wish you luck, I shall pray for you.

Here's the secert.....GIVE UP!! It seems like when people stop trying or dont plan to get pregnant thats when they do!!When you and your husband have that intimate moment let that be it. Don't make it stressful like a job.Don't be intimate as if your trying to accomplish a goal do it out of love and don't stress about it!! Pray and it will happen!! Good Luck and update us when you get that positve test!!! : )

I have been in your shoes, and I know the wait can be frustrating. We had three years of trying the first time, and I finally had surgery to treat endometriosis and was pregnant three months later. The second time we were pleasantly surprised that it only took a year. Since you got pregnant before, your chances are probably good, but just try to enjoy your little one and not totally focused on having another. I did all the temp. charting, and ovulation testing, etc, which were helpful tools, but I was WAY too focused on that, and in the end only got pregnant when the time was right. Pray, Pray, Pray!

prayer!its gonna sound dumb but dont think about it!cuz the stress of having sex to make a baby will be too much.just continue to let it happen without all the pressure.good luck !

it was difficult for me to become pregnant with both of my boys until i read somewhere that you should raise your pelvis to 45 degree angle while having intercourse and stay like that for a little bit after ejaculation to allow enough time for the cervix to be covered and the sperm to be "absorbed" and chase after the little eggies...it makes better sense in my head but this is what worked for me both times.

That's the average Tara, but I was ovulating between days 10 and 13.

sure try on the 13th and 14th day after you start your cycle, that is when you can conceive.

I totally agree with heather, but sometimes you have to do something yourself too! My hubby and I had been trying for about 7 months for our second and nothing was happening... very frustrating, anyways, he bought me a wii fit for our anniversary and i started to do the yoga on it and within a week i was pregnant! It turns out that my pelvis was out of alignment and just needed to be adjusted, and yoga is amazing for this! So i wouldn't knock it till you try it! :) Good luck and we'll be praying for you and your hubby! :) God is good, and in His timing it will happen :) God Bless!

I know how aggravating this sounds to someone trying to get pregnant, but TRY TO RELAX!! After trying to get pregnant, with our first, for 2-1/2 years and stressing about it all the time, we finally gave up and started the adoption process. About six weeks later I got pregnant. Good luck!

Going off of what Linnea said, figure out your fertile timezone. We tried for 5 months with our first, then I figured out that I was ovulating 3 days earlier in my cycle than I had previously thought. The next month I paid extreme attention to my body's signals of ovulation, and presto!!

Prayer and knowing when you're ovulating. My husband and I use the NFP (natural family planning) as birth control and it works great for not getting pregnant so I imagine it'll do the same to get pregnant! And also it sounds like your body may still be recovering from the first baby, so just be patient, like the other ladies said its all God's timing! He knows your hearts and will accomidate them! Good luck and God bless! ~Candice

Relax. I think we can get so worked up wanting something to happen, that we stress ourselves out. Enjoy the daughter you have and have fun with her as her parents and RELAX and enjoy yourselves. It will happen in God's time and when God's wills it to happen. I lost a baby to miscarriage and then it took us 2+years to get pregant again so I understand your impatience. May God Bless you and Until you have more just love her up.

Heather and Linnea are both right and they are great answers. Also read Genesis 30-35. It shows the joy and the blessings and the consequences for taking God's love for granted. It's amazing, I read those chapters again for the first time in a long time and realized that I have to be so thankful for the blessings that he has already given me. Isaiah 55:9 (New International Version)

9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Timing is everything. God knows when you are truly ready :)

Yeah, if you chart your cycle you will know when you are fertile, when you are going to ovulate and when you have ovulated, and within 18 days after ovulation you will know you are pregnant without ever taking a pregnancy or fertility test. I used the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." Its great for achieving or avoiding pregnancy. I think this is ESSENTIAL for every woman!!! Its very empowering and will help you know much more about your body, your cycle, etc...

Prayer. But ultimately it's God's timing and His will. Remember Hannah? She prayed for years for a baby before the Lord finally granted her request. There are tons of stories in the Bibles of moms who wanted children but they were withheld from them for a time. God knows better then us!
