Has any one tried to baby wise at 5 months and is it worth it? My daughter is already sleeping through the night but she does not nap. She will take one while nursing and sleep nurse but at times she does rub her eyes but other then that seems happy. But usaly ones its close to bed time she is ready for her 1hr nursing right before bed and is out. I am tired it just day to put her down for an nap and she cried her self till she started choking on her on spit up. It has scared me out of even wanting to keep trying this.

Yeah, I don't think letting her cry that long is a good idea. I read the first babywise book and enjoyed it. I haven't read the one starting at 5 months. Based on what I read in the first book I don't think they would suggest crying it out to the point of choking. I may be wrong though (as I have not read it). I would suggest letting her cry for no more than 15 minutes without comfort. When you comfort, don't pick her up, just pat her on the back and calm her down. Also, I hate the pacifier but I worked to get my daughter to take naps. Its up to you though if you want to go that route. If you do, you'll be fighting to get her off of it like we are now. But it did help her sleep. All in all, I'm not really big into parenting books. I'm more for common sense and doing what works for your family. I'm sure you will figure it out.
