I have a book called "Women of the Bible" that highlights a woman from the Bible for each week. It has been educational and a lesson in myself. It's taken from scripture with a narrative on each woman's story. I enjoy it.

@Linda, my husband is a fairly newbie, so we go through the NT to get the Christian basics down. We do a lot of counseling, and I feel we need to keep Paul's teachings fresh in our minds. Don't get me wrong, I love the OT, I love the stories of Esther, Deborah, David, I love Psalms, and spent extended amounts of time in Psalms when I was going through severe depression, but for everyday living, the NT is where I advise people to be. I just can't stress enough that devotionals are good for a quick pick-me-up, but we need to be getting the TEACHINGS on how to actually live our lives on a daily basis, AND we need to keep Jesus fresh in our minds. I just don't think you can go wrong with at least a chapter or two a day of good Holy Ghost teaching.

I don't prescribe to devotionals, honey, I get my refreshing 'from the horse's mouth', the Bible. We start in Matthew, go straight through to Revelation, then start in Matthew again.
In order to keep from falling, we NEED God's Words in our hearts. David said in Psalms, 'Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee'. We can't stand against sin if we don't have His Word alive in us. We won't know how to live good Godly lives without reading what the Spirit has given to Paul. We won't know what's coming if we don't read Revelation, and so on. I have grown soooo much since I quit reading books written by men, and start reading the Book written by God.
God bless, sweetheart

I use two. They are both free. I get the IN TOUCH devotional from Charles Stanley and I also get the devotional from Dr. David Jeremiah. I love them both. They come monthly and you can sign up right on their websites. They both also include great articles. Here are there websites. http://www.davidjeremiah.org/shop/magazi...

I used to get something called "Our Daily Bread" sent to me free of charge, it was great. Don't know if you can still get it.
I've just found that you can get it online:
Or you can go to this webpage to apply for the printed version:
There are probably loads of others that are online and therefore free.
Lots to choose from - I like Our Daily Bread but the Heartlight one looks good. It's up to you!
