Does anyone remember Zweiback Toast? It's been around for years. It's a Nabisco teething biscuit that is absolutely the best. I have been looking everywhere and I can't find it. I saw somewhere that maybe Nabisco isn't making it anymore. If anyone knows where I can find it or order online I would be so grateful!

I don't know where you can buy Zwieback Toast, but here is a recipe so you can make your own!

Zwieback Toast

2 c. milk
1/2 c. lukewarm water
1/2 c. butter
2 egg yolk, beaten
1 T. salt
8 c. (approx.) unbleached flour
4 T. sugar
2 T. active dry yeast
Warm butter, milk, salt and 2 T. of the sugar over low heat. Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast and the other 2 T. sugar in the lukewarm water. Cover yeast bowl and let set until bubbles appear on the surface. Combine milk and yeast mixtures and stir. Beat egg yolks then add to mixture.
Slowly add 3 cups of the flour. Mix dough well, then add the remaining flour 1 cup at a time to make a soft dough. If it gets too stiff, stop adding flour. Turn dough to a floured board and knead until dough is smooth and elastic.

Place in greased bowl, rolling dough so it is covered with grease. Cover bowl and let dough rise until double in size. Roll dough into small balls.

Place balls on a greased baking sheet 2 inches apart.

Let the dough rise until double in size. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 2 dozen Zwieback.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  The Walmart I tried didn't have Zweiback Toast.  I also went to the Nabisco website and went to the stores that it said where near me and every store I went to didn't have it.  I have been to a number of store and none of them have it.  When I ask the manager on duty they tell me they don't carry it.  I'm in Maryland.  I'm gonna keep looking.  I bought the Gerber version and it's totally not the same at all!  Thanks everyone

I like Baby Mum Mums, I found them at Walmart and they are cleaner than Zwieback toast in my opinion. They are made with rice and my 8m old loves them.

Hi, I don't know about online, but I live in MA and they have Zweiback toast in every grocery store. Have you tried Super Wal-Mart in your area?

Try Ebay--that's where I found our formula. I was a little weary at first because of tampering, but most of the time it's just people selling the samples they got at their doctor or in the mail that they want to sell to you for a very cheap price.
