E-book readers - Amazon Kindle & Christian books

Does anyone have any e-mailable Christian e-Books they'd like to share with me? I've recently enjoyed 2 or 3 Christian novels which I downloaded free of charge from Amazon to my Kindle. But free books seem to be the exception, rather than the rule! My husband bought this device as a gift for me a few months ago and they're really good - one Kindle can hold over 3,000 books!

I would also like an electronic copy of The Bible for my Kindle - but without paying the fee Amazon charge when you get it from them. There MUST be a few electronic Bibles floating about cyber-space? Many friends have sent me various secular novels and reference books, so I've gotten quite a collection together without spending a penny!

I have also sent loads of books to other people who own e-Book readers.

Can anyone help? Or at least point me in the right direction to some FREE online resource? Thanks!

I can't find it now, Carla!

But I can e-mail the free download of the book to anyone with an e-Book reader that would like to read it!

Don't know why people should object to a book in which God is portrayed as female! I personally believe God is above sexuality, God is probably male AND female and is portrayed as male in the Bible just for convenience and ease of reading. There are some hymns and gospel choruses that portray the Holy Spirit as female anyway. We know Jesus was male because He lived on Earth as a human and therefore had a distinct gender.

And that reminds me .... I hate the term "mankind" I think "humankind" is a better word. Unless of course we are discussing individuals who are all male in gender and are equally happy to use the term "womankind" as well when discussing female groups of individuals.

You can do with your paperback what I did with ours, Angela. We bought probably 10 of them over the last couple years and gave them to various friends and family. The proviso was that they read it, then send it on to one of their friends.

We have read it 4 or 5 times, it is as underlined as my Bible is. There are many valuable truths in there, but some I had to read, over and over, as they sounded almost heretical, until I read and meditated and asked God to reveal it to me. I know a lot of people have responded negatively to it because God was portrayed as a woman, but when you understand WHY He did that, it just shows, all the more, that God is a kind, gentle, loving God, who will do anything to get to us and heal our hearts.

God bless, honey, hope you have a great day.

I bought the paperback copy of The Shack after reading a thread about it on here. It's very good!

A bit of searching around can usually get a copy of anything to download from online, but you might be searching a while.

Here's The Shack:

and I think it's FREE for downloading onto e-Book readers. Wish I'd found it free online before paying for a paperback copy!

I would recommend to everyone 'The Shack' by Wm Young. It IS a work of fiction, but I believe there are many Truths in there, and you will learn to understand the workings of God, the Father, Jesus, the Savior, and The Holy Spirit. It is also an amazing look at forgiveness. The subject matter is very delicate, so know right now that you will cry buckets, but I feel it is worth it. Probably Angela, you won't find it free, unless someone here has it, but for Ronal, it's a good read.

God bless.

This is great! Thank you so much everyone!

When I got my Kindle, I made a vow to myself I would NEVER pay for books! So far I haven't. The Kindle in itself is expensive enough with forking out for the books to read on it! (I'm so tight with my money, LOL!!).

Have you tried signing up for any book review companies? You can get free books (e-books or physical books) in exchange for reviewing them. I have gotten some wonderful books that way, I have seen a few Bibles up for review as well.

Cool! Thanks Heather, I'll try that!
Anyone else got any nice Christian novels they can e-mail me? I mean PDF files of books. I get them by e-mail and my husband is the one with the technical know-how to get them onto my Kindle. He's a star!!
Also any good devotional books or books about various "issues" on Christian themes are discussed?

I was able to download a free Bible from Amazon... If you go in and search Kindle Bible (or Christian Kindle) then change the "sort by" to say "price low to high" instead of relevance. It will pull up all of the free books first. :) I don't have a kindle, but I do have the PC version of it on my computer.
