Many times we have had no extra money so my kids and I would do things like make dad's favorite meal/dessert/treat, give him time for himslef, go for hikes/walks/bike rides, play games, make things for him from stuff around the house, give him homemade gift certificates made up of things that you and the kids can do...mow the lawn, make his favorite treat, wash the car, and many other things that you can think of. Makes a very personal gift.

Give him time by himself, time with you, time with the kids, make him his favorite meal, write him a letter telling him what he means to you, make his favorite dessert/treat. You don't have to spend money to give your husband a special gift. For many years we could not afford anything so we did things together--wnet for a walk, made a special meal/dessert/treat. In fact my duaghter-in-law aand myself are in the boat of having no extra money so we are making them their favorite cookies.

My husband pretends he likes gifts or pictures or what not that I get him, but once time passes he'll tell me he just wanted his power drill or saw. So now I get him 2 gifts what I want to get him and something he wants. This year I am having a friend do an artwork with his favorite verse and then I'm getting him the bible case he wants. If you google unique fathers day gifts a website comes up (i dont know what its called) but you send in a picture and they put it on a canvas with either a saying or scripture printed on it. My friend did this last year and its pretty cool. Hope this helps

Last year I picked up the coffee mugs that you can draw on and had my daughter draw on it. It's really simple but I think he loved it. BTW...you can get these mugs from the dollar store. Yeah!!! I love the dollar store.

I bought a shadow box picture frame and the other day, I took some pictures of my boys (they are 2 and 9 months) wearing daddy's shirts and cowboy hats. (dh likes his boots and hat!) I'm going to make a scrapbook page with a couple of the pictures, a poem or verse about daddies, and their handprints, and put it in the frame.
We also got him a voltameter, which was what he asked for.

You could have your kids make a scrapbook of pictures and art of/by them and their dad.
If your kids are old enough to help you sew you could make him a pillow.
Have your kids write a story about their dad and illustrate it.
