I would like to be one of those mothers who consistently pray. I also want to stop worrying and trust in the Lord. My fears are stopping me, is there any advice how I can do this? I want to be the best mom my daughter can have.

Be encouraged Eva,
God knows your heart and even the fears that you have, what I would suggest is as you're confessing your fears to the Lord, look up scriptures that deal with overcoming Fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 reads: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 1 Peter 5:7 says Casting your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Those are just a few verses that I want to share with you. I believe with the heart you have about your child is what God is very much aware of and since He gave you such a precious gift, He is there for you right now to lead, guide, and comfort you, all you have to do is call on Him. I will keep you in my prayers.

When we have children, releasing them is not an easy task. It is hard sometimes and it is a faith task. What has helped me is thinking on WHO BETTER TO GIVE YOUR CHILD TO THAN THE MAKER HIMSELF. HE KNOWS HOW TO PROTECT THEM SO MUCH MORE BETTER YOU AND I, PROTECTION HE WILL SUPPLY. Speak the faith of releasing your child into the hands of the maker. It is a process and YOU can do. Be Blessed.

Very good replies here. I really cannot add anything special to this except my own experiences. I give it to God. Thank Him for what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do in the future. When I start thinking about something that worries me, I talk to God, our Father in Heaven and ask Him to give me strength...to guide me....to comfort me...to hold me in his hands. "Walk by faith and not by sight" is what we should do. For we cannot see our Father in Heaven, but know He is what He says He is, and will do what He says He will do. "We are His children and will take care of us just as He does the animals in the wild - we are better than them aren't we?" Just pray....rather talk to Him, our Father in Heaven...for He loves for us to talk to/with Him. This pleases Him. Talk to Him just as you do your family, friends, and loved ones. Do not stray from Him even if you are angry, He wants to hear this also. Tell Him you are worried and for Him to take these worries away; your worries are for Him to deal with.
Well, for me not to have anything to say, I think I've said enough lol.

Just Praise Him!! Tell Him you love Him! There is such a peace that surrounds me when I do this. I wish you the best of luck! God bless you and yours.

Eva, Read Matt 6 Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry for itself. think on these things, ..... if God feeds the little sporrows He will feed His children. God always makes a way for us, if we are faithful to serve Him. So don't you woryy God is in control and like Cheri says, He reigns and let Him lead you . Our God is a awesome God and He will never ever fail us. God bless you.

When you think about something, pray about it right then & there. Thank Him for the health of your child, any blessings that come your way as they come & ask Him for help with whatever comes to mind. I can't imagine having a set "prayer time". I just talk to the Lord throughout the day. Now, if only I read my Bible as much as I should. :) You don't have to be all formal or even pray out loud. He knows your thoughts & can hear you without you speaking out loud. Talk to Him like he is your best friend . . . he is.

Hi Eva, I would like to share something with you that I wrote. I hope that it helps.

NOW Faith – M.I.T. JoAnne Jennings
Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (KJV)

Undoubtedly, some of us have heard many messages and interpretations of this verse in Hebrews. Preachers have emphasized the entire passage as a definition of what faith means, encouraging us to believe that we possess what we cannot see, touch, smell, or taste before its manifestation. Others concentrate on the phrase “Now faith...” expressing that we should have an unwavering confidence when times are trying, that God is always present, aware of our needs, and ready to step in on our behalf. As eloquently as the people of God deliver this message, often we still have a difficult time understanding just how to obtain and strengthen this thing called faith. I agree that this is a daunting task for many of us; as hard as we try, distractions of everyday life cloud our thoughts that any good thing will come out our circumstances.

As I struggled with strengthening my faith in God, there were several things that I realized I needed to do. I offer them to you. I pray it will help as you walk toward a NOW Faith.

F: God FIRST – Matthew 6:33 - “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness...” (KJV)

A: ASK God to take control of your day – Psalms 37:23 - “The steps of a good man [or woman] are ordered by the Lord…” (NKJV)

I: INCLUDE God in the decisions that you are faced with – Proverbs 3:6 – “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (KJV)

T: TELL God how much you love Him – Psalm 34:1 – “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (NKJV)

H: HEAR His voice – Psalm 34:4 – “I prayed to the Lord, and He answered me, freeing me from all my fears.” (NLT)

Father, we glorify you for who you are in our lives. Thank you, Lord for your grace and mercy that you give to us daily. Please guide our footstep that we will walk according to the path you have set for us. Where there is doubt, O Lord, strengthen our faith and help us to have the confidence that you will provide all our needs, and the understanding that all things work together for our good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Blessings

A very wise woman once told me that she thinks of worry as a prayer to a false God. And she's right. When we allow ourselves to worry we are allowing the devil to take away our trust in God. We aren't trusting God to take care of the situation and use it for good. We aren't trusting that he is in complete control of everything. When ever I start to worry I ask my self "Is God in control?" and of course I answer yes. Then I ask myself "Is God good?" and of course I answer yes. Then I ask myself why I am worrying. I turn my worry in to a prayer and thank God for how great he is.

Psalm 25:2
in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.

Psalm 20:7
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Psalm 40:4
Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

Psalm 56:4
In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Psalm 62:8
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah

When the worry edge creeps up inside you, make the choice to pray instead. This helped me when I was a teenager, my mom told me this, it's based off the Parable of the Sower. Everytime you go to pray you are sending an angel up to heaven with a message, and they are battling their way up to God. If you worry it's like causing a huge battle that the angel has to go through before the message arrives. Base it off like a seed, when you pray your planting a seed, but if you plant it in the weeds of worry and doubt, all you do is choke it out. Replace the worry that creeps in and tell the devil, "you are not going to distract me, God has good plans for me and my family", then pray. Do it every single time! :)

Hi Eva, I can totally relate. about 12 years ago God healed me from paralyzing fear and worry. I was afraid of everything and worried about everything. I can relate so many stories to you, BUT I am not going to because I am not that person any moore, PRAISE GOD !!!!!

How did God heal me? I was part of a Bible study that God used. It started with memorizing and living

Matthew 6:25-34
25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

EVERY TIME I want to worry of be fearful I would recite and meditate on these verses. I soon released that if I believed that Jesus Saved me through His Death Blood and Resurrection were true, than these verses are TRUE. This healing did not happen over night, but God did Heal me.

From your picture it looks like your daughter is young. My daughters were 13 and 9 when I was healed. Unfortunately our daughters especially our oldesst daughter has been affected by living with my fear. She is now realizing that God can and will heal her like He did me. You are sooo wise to want to change now that she is young and will not remember much of your worry. I know with Gods help you can do this.

Cheri had great ideas on becoming a Praying parent. You can also go to www.navpress.com for other ideas on becoming the Praying Parent you desire.

Psalms 37 3-5
Trust in the LORD and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
Delight yourself in the LORD;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the LORD,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it. Psalm 37:3-5

I will keep you in my Prayers. God Bless you and enjoy your daughter.

two good books for you.... if there's time.... :) calm my anxious heart by linda dilllow and the power of a praying parent by stormie omartian
i know i forget from moment to moment to let God handle my fears and fusses, and it's good to have reminders around me to get me back on track. :) so I have Bible verses up around the house. my favorite lately has been 2 Cor. 3:18--paraphrased from memory--God is gradually changing us into the image of Christ all for his glory. I love that. Every day he's working in me to change me from this broken vessel into a work of art. He knows what the end product will look like. :) and so do I. the image of Christ. who is perfect and content and trusts completely the will of God.
:) someday. :)

Eva everyone is a little worried right now about finances, fires, mortgages, etc. Turn it over to the Lord, tell him you've done everything you can about your problem and He has to take it over now! Remember He is in control, so let Him have the reigns and lead you.

God bless you,

Cheri
