Lindsey,

First take a deep breath....okay now figure out what important, Can you replace anything that the baby's getting into??? Baby gates are a wonderful thing try and find the circular gates were you can pin him in for a little while. Then you make sure that dad has water and asprin in next to the bed and tell him to leave you alone for 30 to 60 min. and then go turn your worship music on and do something that you want to do not the stuff that has to be done what YOU WANT to do...it could be reading your bible or a hobby or try taking your son out to the yard and do some gardening some thing thats not a chore for you like with me I enjoy mowing my yard haven't been able to much this year b/c of the rain but thats relaxing to me just being out side in the sunshine...now thats relaxing...With your stress you need to ask your self " Is this something that I can change right now?" if not then let it go, if you can then do what ever it takes to do it and get it out of the way!!! Stress can do some really wierd things to your body just learn to let it go!!!

my family know when I am really stressed..and all know its best to just leave me be...dont try to jolly me along...or ask me whats wrong and DONT, DONT tell me to calm down.... a cup of coffe in the bath, with of course a bar of choccie always does wonders...used to be a cigarette but with Gods help I am no longer smoking.

I totally know how you feel. I am a stay at home mom with a husband who's job takes him away for 2 weeks at a time. My children are 3 and 19 months, and there is no "me' time until bedtime.....lol. WHat I always try to remember is GOD doesn't give you anything you can't handle, I also remind myself of how lucky I am to live in a free country, with necessities that we take for granted everyday. Try to stay positive, though I know its very hard somedays. Being out in the sunshine with the kids helps me alot as well. Lean on GOD he's right there :)

I have learned that, sometimes we as wives and mothers have alot to deal with.but what I started doing when I let stress become my focal point, just step back and remember tha God will never give you more than you can handle;also,a little uplifting gospel music really does the trick, trust me on this one:)music by CeCe Winans,Kirk Franklin,Yolanda Adams.just pop it in,and just let God do the rest.God Bless you and your family.

I usually take a bath, and after that my husband rubs my feet, brushes my hair, or gives me a back rub. There are also quite a few times where he sends me out by myself. I've also found that if I turn on your favorite music it helps a lot. I too eat chocolate. I always have a bunch of chocolate on hand. Except I'm out of cookies and my brother gave me a craving for cookies today while I was talking to him the lil booger. lol

Thanks everyone for your posts! I am feeeling a little more sane these days. I did get out of the house and had me time as well as i planned and had a great date day! I mean a whole day with my husband! Which was really great because we hardly ever get to go out and just be the two of us.

Lindsey you are not alone! Being a Mom can definitely be trying at times. When I get stressed I watch a funny episode of Seinfeld or Friends, I take a walk, I pray for strength and patience, or I read a funny book. Mommy time-outs aren't just a "nice to have" they are a requirement of the job! Hang in there ;-)

Hello Lindsey ! My name is Carolee.

I talk with a lot of Moms and they always tend to forget the most important person in their lives (themselves). They prioritize everybody else in their lives, but are usually to tired for and frustrated for themselves !

I know that God is with me where ever I am..... even when Iam shopping :D or lets say getting a pedicure, gardening, buying flowers, taking a walk, cranking the music and driving, going for a swim, taking a bath, sitting at a coffe shop, people watching.

I like to refresh by spending some time doing things I love to do with my best friend in the whole world . . God !

Choose to MAKE the time ) to recharge :D

Finding sometime alone to do some Bible Study and prayer when I get up helps me handle the stress of the day. Also, some alone time works wonders.

I eat chocolate and sit in front of the computer a LOT. It's the only reality 'escape' I have since my husband left us. I get a break from my girls when they are at school or the occasional weekend at Grandpa's, but I haven't been totally alone since the day my now 14 month old son was born..... Yep, I'm STRESSED! :)
