Before everyone gets up and starts the day, or after everyone else is in bed! If you have kids at home, Nap time works well!! Sometimes you don't even need a quiet time. Any time I'm alone, driving in the car, washing dishes, vacuuming...folding clothes... Keep a prayful heart all the time!

Maybe you would be interested in joining my community on Circle of Moms. The name is "Devotionals for mothers and others" I am hoping it will be a safe and encouraging place where we can be uplifting to one another and share stories. It is a fairly new community and I hope you will check it out. Oh, BTW, make sure you enter my Funny Face Photo Contest! Be blessed, Shannon Gipson

Quoting APRIL:
How do you find quiet time to pray during the day? Have a set nap/quiet time and use that time to pray before you decide if you need a nap too!
Quiet time consists of in their bed laying down with a quiet toy and no talking...

Quoting Carolyn:
You know it really doesn't take long to send up a prayer but my favorite tip is when I make the kids beds I pray for the child that sleeps in it. It means I have prayed for each child at least once in that day. Also when I make our bed I pray for my marriage and for God to protect us and help us grow together.
do you know that is a wonderful idea...I am goin to start doin that from today..thanks Carolyn

Hi, I'm Sue and I'm pretty busy! I work, go to school, involved in my church. And my husband and I are raising a 16 yr. old (his daughter) and my granddaughter (age 7 yrs.) So I get up, an hour early, in the mornings so I can read my Bible (tring to read it all the way through). On the way to work or school (depending on which day it is) I pray. I have a 30 min. drive and I'm often saying Amen as I pull into the parking space. I often pray on the way back home. I also let little every day things remind me to pray for extra things, like sirens. They remind me to pray for those who serve us, like firemen, police officers, e.m.t.s, ect....I pray that you will find the perfect time for your quiet time, may God bless you and your family....

I pray or rather have conversations with God at anytime and at all times during the day. I used to have specific special times before I had children (I now have 3 young children below 8 yrs and one of them is autistic). In addition to this, I am a full time working mom. I started feeling guilty because I could no longer have the lengthy times of prayer that I used to have because of the several 'duties' I had to do during a single day! This really affected my relationship with God although I really loved and still love Him so dearly! I felt alarmed until I actually realised (thanks to God's Holy Spirit) that God knew and knows every tiny aspect about me and not only wants to be involved with it but actually enjoys it when I acknowledge Him in every aspect of my life! I have therefore learned to speak to Him all the time and anytime whether i am busy being a mom, a wife, a worker or simply being me. I get up earlier than the rest of my family and have my devotions and then pray. However, through out the day, I whisper short prayers, i talk to God as a friend who is close, i remind myself about His promises by speaking them out loud, i sing worship songs and just remind myself ALL THE TIME THAT HIS HOLY SPIRIT IS PRESENT WITH ME and will help me to offer acceptable prayers where I'm not able to. It has really helped me to have a better relationship with Him because through this, I've come to realise that He's closer than any one else to me through out the day! Be encouraged. He knows your thoughts even before a word is on your lips. Simply connect with Him in your heart and don't limit Him to a particular time. He loves you any how. Enjoy Psalms 139. God Bless

I get up before my son and have devotionals and prayer time in "quiet" because I truly believe in that verse "be still and know that He is God" and also where the Bible says "He speaks in a small still voice". I think sometimes we can do ALL the talking and never let Him respond. So, my morning time is a time for me to do some praise and worship, read my Bible, and then sit in the quiet and ask God to speak to my heart and He always does. Throughout the day is when I'll pray to Him as things come up... and many times I pray while I'm rocking my baby for a nap, or just pray out loud while cleaning and stuff - my son loves watching me. :)

I try to pray and do my devotionals in the mornings, when Sam takes her longest nap (she isn't much of a morning person). And, like Samantha Rudd said, I try to pray doing little things throughout the day.

April, I pray all the time during the day or at night,,I just find myself going in rooms the family aren't in.. Sometimes I include them into the prayer, which is better sometimes..especially when you're going thru a storm in your life..when 2 or 3 ppl or praying with you , you get that extra strength and God is there you know in the midst of the prayer..A family that prays together stays together. I even find myself taking a drive in the car, just to have that time with God ..Long walks are good prayer times also..I will remember you in my prayer times also..Stay encouraged my sister...

Mari,
What a wonderful way to teach your child to pray and have a relationship with the Lord and what a wonderful way to start your young one to know Gods word...

If I have a very busy day and my newborn doesn't want to settle, when he's awake, but not sleeping I pray out loud instead of singing or repeating nurssery rhymes, that way baby hears my voice and If I feel I have to read my bible, I just read out loud so baby doesn't feel alone. my bible is next to my nursing chair so some times I take a few minutes whie I'm breast feeding or baby sleeping in my arms.

April-With three kids in the house I understand not having a good time to pray! I usually pray in the shower, or if there is a rare quiet moment in the car. It is hard to find a good time to have a long, dedicated prayer time, but I have learned to do as Shelly suggested and just pray as I go through my day. Blessings!

April,
Why do you feel like you need to make time for it...Just talk to him through out the day as if you are talking to one of your friends...Don't try to fit him in a neat little package of this is the time I will spend with the Lord!!! Spend every moment of your day with him and when you have something on your heart to talk to him about just talk to him...I think all of us as Christians fall into that trap of I don't have time or I don't know how!!! All he has asked of us is to have a relationship with him to be his friend to be his child...Do your children have a set time and place or way that they talk to you??? then why do you put the Lord in a box and think that we can only talk to him in a formal way or at the right time or in the right place...I don't know what your relationship with you dad is or was but talk to him like you would of talk to your dad here....God bless you for wanting to spend that special time with him but sweety just talk to him when ever it moves ya!!! Yes even if your sitting on the pot in the bathroom he'll listen!!!

I get up an hour early to read my Bible, take a shower and pray. Then I pray on and off throughout the day, usually short prayers, but I can get some longer ones in while folding laundry or washing dishes. The kids pray with me often, and they actually really enjoy it because they know that I do. We pray together at home, and in the car. You can pray anytime, it doesn't even have to be quiet, God can hear us no matter how loud our kids scream!

The easiest quiet times are when the baby/kid/kids is/are asleep but otherwise, get the child involved, too! You can always pray together and praying as a family teaches kids that God is near for all of you, that he is present in the house and in your hearts. I never prayed with my family growing up accept church on Sunday and a quick grace before dinner. I really wish my family and I had worshipped together in that kind of setting. I grew up feeling uncomfortable sharing my experience with God, like prayer was this secret private thing, and it is good to have those private times with God, sometimes you have private things to pray about, but praying with your kids is so beautiful and it helps them in their relationships with God. If you have a time for intentions during prayer when they can pray for whatever's on their minds, it helps in their communication with you, too.

i usually pray while i am in the bathroom whether taking a shower or something. I also try to pray when i tell my 2 yr old daughter to say her prayers she prays so cute though so i like to try to hear whats she is whispering. I usually also go to bed after my daughter so i pray then also. If i read a sad story or hear of someone dying i try to pray for their family as soon as i hear it and I explain to my daughter what has happened. So I have her sit here while i pray. Sometimes its quiet and other times it isnt.

Hi April, like Samantha, I try to use time that otherwise would be "down" time. I also like to get up a little earlier than my husband( we are empty nesters) to spend a few minutes Praying for the requests on my Prayer List. One job I detest is returning empty pop (soda) cans, we live in MI and have a deposit on most beverage cans and bottles. I ask God to bring some one to mind to Pray for and then when I am mindlessly putting the cans into the machine I spend the few minutes Praying for that person. I have struggled for years with guilt because I did not spend at least an hour at a time in Prayer. Then I realized that not every one has that large of time block and smaller chunks of time Praying to my Lord and Saviour is more important than to be paralyzed with guilt and not spend any time in Prayer. I also tend to talk to myself, so I have started talking to God instead. Example "Where did I leave my glasses? to God you can see where my glasses are Please allow me to look in the right pace to find my glasses." When ever I Pray that Prayer even if it is for some one else as long as I am Praying out loud God has NEVER left that Prayer unanswered. Within 5 minutes I always find what we are looking for. We serve such a Great God!

I use night feeds, but my child is still little. The other thing I have tried is praying while I do a specific everyday task that doesn't take a lot of mind power, like doing dishes. It gives me time with God and makes dishes a more looked forward to task.
