I need help staying close to God I start off on the right path and then I go wrong. It is hard for me to stay focused because my husband does not go to church with me or my girls so I found it hard to stay on the path to christ I fell it is comeing between my relationship with god my husband does not act like my husband we do not have a relationship i need help and some advice please help.

You stay close to God by praying, reading your Bible and going to church. A helpful book for me was Come Walk with Me by Carole Mayhall, it explains different techniques on how to study the Bible and really opened my eyes to His plan for those who love Him! Praise God you want to teach your girls about Christ!!!!

Sweetheart, being a Christian with a non-believer is rough. I walked that path for a long time. The one thing you have to remember is that God will NOT take your husband as your excuse that you are not staying on the path. You say your husband is not acting like a husband and you do not have a relationship. Is he in the home with you? Is he asking you to do things that, as a Christian, you do not feel comfortable with? I know with us, my husband would ask me to go to the bar with him. He didn't get that I was a recovering alcoholic, and going to the bar was NOT a good thing!
Nagging doesn't help win them to Christ, belittling or crying doesn't. In I Peter he talks about what wins our husbands is our chaste conversation coupled with fear of the Lord. I figured out if I go to church, read my Bible, pray and lead my life Godly, he eventually converted. I didn't make a big show, like reading my Bible in front of the TV while he was trying to watch, or make a big production out of getting the kids out the door to church. I lived like a Christian. Watch your mouth! Do you get on the phone and gossip, then walk out the door to church? Do you swear like a sailor, then go read your Bible? Unsaved people can pick out a hypocrite at 1,000 yards!
I don't mean to say you do these things, but so many women I have seen in church do. These are the things that turn off people, rather than lead them to a wonderful Savior!
Next, I got on my face before the Lord, when we were in real crisis. God knows if you are sincere, so it's better to be very honest with Him, than to pretend. I confessed MY faults, and prayed for ME to be a better wife, and to help me to stay on the path, never mind what my husband did. He was God's problem, not mine!
I don't know if I've helped you any, but I CAN tell you that IF you are really wanting a closer relationship, get on your knees. Pray for your husband, pray for yourself, and praise God for the help, even before you see it. He will NOT let you down.
