It's unlikely to happen in Britain - I mean that they'd stop having God Save The Queen as the National Anthem. The Queen (or whoever the ruling monarch is) is Head of the Church of England - so God would ALWAYS be in the National Anthem.

Unless, of course, the monarchy was abolished! Perish the thought! It's her diamond Jubilee in the next couple of days - 60 years on the throne as our Queen!

As I said earlier - those of you who find themselves swearing the Pledge with God removed can just mention God quietly to yourselves in your own hearts. He knows you're still leaning on Him for His divine guidance.

God bless you all.

My daughter goes to public school also and she says the pledge just the way I learned it as a child

Not all schools have removed it, my sons school still says it and it's a public school so it hasn't been removed in all schools.

As the End Days grow closer, Michelle, the world grows more and more evil. Taking God out of our pledge is just one more step towards the destruction of the world.

The first chapter of Romans says 'and as they do not like to retain God in their lives, He turns them over to a reprobate mind', and this is what is happening. Pray for America, sweetheart, we are in trouble.

God bless, hon

If you're a Christian, you can always hold the "under God" part in your heart in the Pledge, so at least for you, God's omniscience is an integral part of the Pledge.

We don't have a Pledge in the UK. But we have our National Anthem which is "God Save The Queen". I can't imagine what life would be like if it was abolished.

If mention of God has been removed from the Pledge, how come you didn't know about it until your younger brother informed you? Surely anything like this would be widely discussed in the Media?
