My children did not go to church until they were 5 and 3. Now they love it so much that they cry when I tell them that it is not Sunday. I play a game each week with my 5 year old to where she gets to pull post its off the calendar Monday to Sunday as a "count down" to church. While I didn't have to make it fun for them I want to keep their intrest peaked. Our church has a growing children's ministry so right now there is a lot of one on one interaction. Stay constant also.

Hi Sherry, I have an 8 year old girl who loves to go to church, she participates actively in her Sunday school class and I agree with Juli find out how she finds the class/church or maybe attend one of the Sunday class with her. My daughter's Sunday class is so interesting I would prefer to be there sometimes:) I pray that your child will have interest in the Sunday class.
I haven't 'been there', Sherry, but I think a lot of kids just go because their parents do and they have no choice. Statistics show that most Christians come to Christ by age 18 and that far fewer make a decision for Christ after age 18.
That makes sense and reminds me of the Bible verse Proverbs 22:6
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
So you are doing your best to train her up.
Is there something she does not like about church?
A person she doesn't get along with?
Feeling 'connected' with church family is an important need and maybe she doesn't feel connected to many people there.
Does your church have an active inclusive youth ministry?
