looking for good church

My husband and I recently moved to the Hampton Roads area of Virginia and we are trying to find a homechurch for us to attend. If anyone knows of some good, "down to earth" churches in the Hampton Roads area I'd appreciate the info...time of service, address, any midweek services (my husband occasionally has to work Sundays). We also have an 18 month old son, so I'm hoping to get involved with the nursery in a church as well.

Thanks

I would look for a Calvary Chapel!! It's a great place to be!

Hi Amanda! I just joined yesterday, and the welcome letter included a link to this post! God is funny when He does that!

We moved here last year and found that there were several terrific churches. Can you tell me what type of worship you prefer? We usually attend non-denominational churches that are fairly contemporary in style, and so I found a few in the area like that. We now go to Northside Christian Church in Yorktown, and one of the reasons for that is that it has a GREAT children's program.

Where in Hampton Roads are you? :)

Make up a list of questions to ask a pastor based on your personal beliefs as well as the needs of your family. Call the churches of interest in your area and "interview" the pastors on the issues most important to you and your family.

God Bless You Mrs. LaCroix,

I watch St Paul's Baptist on Church every sunday. The doctrine is of God, and I believe they would make you and your family feel right at home. This is there website, check it out.

I will be praying that you and your family find a church that will draw you closer to God!

Love pauline

I am no where near that, but I would recommend googling it. You can tell a ton about a church by the web site.
