My husband is military and I am a stay at home wife. We move every 3 years or so and we have a one year old daughter with another on the way in Dec. I'm looking for others who may be like me. Neither of our families support our decision to homeschool, neither dress modestly or live the way we do with our christian values. We believe the Lord leads us to live this way and everything we do is based on the bible and our personal relationship with the Lord. I would love some homeschooling advice, some words of encouragement or others who are going through the same thing. We've also left it up to the Lord to give us as many children as he sees fit, by adoption or naturally. Everyone we are surrounded by is very critical of us and our convictions and I would just like to meet friends who are supportive and have similar convictions. Thank you and God Bless!!

Ditto, Heather. Jesus said the world hates Me, and it will hate you, too.

When I decided to give my life to Jesus fully, my friends left in droves ;) But you know what? That was okay. I found I had nothing in common with them anymore. People do NOT want someone who isn't out getting wasted or having an affair around them. Our Jesus inside us convicts them, without us having to say a single word! I find my fulfillment in my grandchildren, which we now have 3 days a week while school is out, and we pick them up after school and keep them until their parents get home, so our life is very full. I do not have girlfriends, the last one I had came over every day to 'make sure I took all my medications (I have multiple diseases), but ended up constantly drugged and then she seduced my husband--that was enough. Jesus is my Friend and Confidante.

We moved 13 times during my 9 years in school. I understand the loneliness. Homeschooling, as Linda says, gives security against the moves. I applaud you and your husband for having given this ultimate sacrifice for US.

We are always here. I have found beautiful women in this community who are my friends and my advisors. They cry with me and rejoice with me. I take what I am given by the Lord with gratitude--He brought me to this community.

God bless, sweetheart. Continue seeking the Lord with all your heart, do what your heart tells you is right, and don't worry about what the world says. We KNOW we WIN!

People will always be critical of our convictions Heather. It comes with the territory of being a follwer of Christ. I'm not military either, but I can try to offer you some Bibical support.

James 4:4 Don't you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God?

Titus 3:2 And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness and devotion to God.

1 Thessalonians 2:4 Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.

Colossians 4:5-6 Live wisely amobng those who are not believers and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.

Proverbs 20:7 The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children who follow them.

I'm not military, and the one move we made 8 years ago was traumatic enough for us---so I can't imagine moving every three years! However, homeschooling is the best option for you if you are doing that since your kids can have continuity in their schooling. We do homeschool--I've done it for 16 years now (officially). I think it has been (mostly) wonderful and highly recommend it! The world will always criticize us--it was against Jesus as well. Do you have a local church which can give you support? We'd love to encourage you as much as we can on the internet...but friends you can sit down with ---and cry on their shoulder if necessary--are really important. Let me know if you have any specific questions...but do not look for approval from the world.
