My car is broken...Need Prayer Please

Asking the church is a great idea only we went that route before we went to my mechanic. well things are looking up. thanks for all the prayers. We are just going to make the payments every month and pay it off when we get our tax return and if we have enough left over but a new "used" car.

I would certainly seek a second quote on your car. If the church family has any mechanics that would be wonderful, otherwise, I would recommend checking to see if any of the colleges near you have automotive programs. They usually train their kids on real cars with real problems. They don't charge labor only parts, and they get discounts on the parts. They only take cars if they line up with the class that they are running at the time, but it is worth checking in to. Also dealerships are always more expensive. And Just Brakes is the worst place to go because they always tell you things need fixing that don't. Take your car somewhere else and tell them what the first place told you. They will give you a lesser quote almost garrenteed just to get your business. I have prayed for you and your situation. I hope this is able to help you in some way.

Anne's suggestion is wonderful! I know our church has a ministry for single women dealing with cars and those wonderful men who donate their services and time have done work for other families in need too.

Hi Kelli, do you have a Church where you could ask the Pastor if he knew of any one that repaired cars on the side? If your church does not have any one that could help maybe some one knows of some one that does. I know from experience, as most people have had car trouble at some time in their lives, that car trouble and expenses can be very frustrating. I will keep you in my Prayers. Anne.

I have so been there. After deciding last year to drop my divorce against my husband (long story...) we ended up leaving our home and moving to N. Carolina to live with his mom. It was supposed to be short-term while he found a job. Ended up being 8 months! He did get a job for a while, but it was in Florida, so I was stuck with no car, no money, and nowhere to go in the BOONIES with my toddlers and my MIL, dependent on her to take care of me & my babies. Did I mention I got pregnant there? Not fun. She ended up kicking us out last Oct. and we packed up, drove back home where we started, barely made it back with the money we had, and stayed with my grandmother for a month. God blessed us and my husband had a job within days of moving back, and we had an apartment within a month...but our checks weren't being forwarded, so we had to wrangle things around with our money to pay the deposit, etc. We didn't have the money for a second car, so we had three car seats jammed into the backseat of a 2-door Honda Civic hatchback. I don't think that's the recommended way! We did get a huge tax refund this year, so we paid off 4 years of untouched medical bills and credit cards, and my parents sold us a car for a great price. But even now, we are behind on rent and bills, because we still have issues with checks in the mail!



I can totally relate to your helplessness and not having your own space and *gulp* having your in-laws watch your every move with your kids! But thank God for loving family, huh? He will take care of those who are faithful to Him, even when it seems like we are at the bottom of the barrel.



If you lived near me I would tell you to go to my mechanic, he's a great guy. He fixed my car when it had a fuel leak in the engine (thank God for no fires!) and I still owe him over $350 for that. He lets us pay him when we can.
