Hey mommys
I am 24 and a single mom of 2 boys (praying for a husband but given the strength to wait). One is 3 and the other is 1. I am forced by the court to let my kids spend time with a very worldly father. My 3 year old has started asking things like, why can daddy say bad words and why can daddy do this or that. I don't want to make him feel like his dad is a bad guy, but I also dont want him to think that is acceptable behavior (for me OR the Lord). How to I Explain to a 3 year old that his dad isnt living for Jesus the way we are. I feel like its just gonna get worse from here when he wants to know why we don't watch certain movie etc. ya know... HELP

hi danielle,
I agree with heather, continue to be a godly example to your kids. teach them that they can love their daddy, but not act or talk like him. teach them to pray for their daddy that God would give their daddy a desire to know God like you do. get age appropriate books to read to your kids that teach God's character. ask your church if they have a library where you can use their books if you can't find some at the public library (our family has become all about the library these days since books are so expensive). cover your kids with prayer when ever they spend time with their daddy.

on a side note, find a MOPS group at a local church if your church does not have one. MOPS - Mothers of Pre-Schoolers. It is a great support for mom's with kids that are not is school yet.

Just like you said. Just tell him that you love Jesus, but daddy doesn't know Him yet. Pray together for him. Pray that your son can share Jesus with his dad. Maybe he can make a difference!
