My baby girl will be 1 in August! I need ideas for her party? Also can you give me an estimate of how much was spent? I'd like to start saving for it now so it doesn't hit us all at once. Thanks a bunch

Thanks for all your replies. I have been playing around with cupcake ideas and mini cakes as well, and although it will mean a bit of work for me it will definitely save me money in the long run. Thanks again

Thanks, I hadn't really thought about the time thing, but your right. Anything over 2 hours is really just for the grown ups and not the birthday baby.

check out www.celebrationexpress.com -- have cute and unique themes for first birthdays.
We spent around $300.00 - but we also have a HUGE family, around 70 guests + it was catered. With that said, I wish it had of been much more low key. Not that Grace will remember it either way, but 1) she got really anxious when some people began pouring over her and 2) she slept through half of it!
1 easy way to save money is to bake cupcakes yourself. Just frost them in the color that goes with her theme. If you want your baby to have a cake, many bakeries will make her an individual sized one.

For my sons first birthday we did a potluck at the park. :) Other then presents it was pretty much free :) There was tons of fun!

I have an 8 year old little girl and a 3 year old little boy ,At one she loved Winnie the Pooh so my little girls 1st b-day was a Winnie the Pooh cake and a room full of balloons at my home have ,its what worked best for her and my family because at one year old a new place and a lot of people can be to much for some kids, I think its best to have small party with friends and family and try your best to have it over in a hour or two because if not it could be to much for your little one.It was a few years back but with the gifts cake and balloons and food maybe 150.00 take lots of pictures the party is more for you than her at this age.
