Thanks, Cecilia. Have you had any experience with that Cancer Treatment Centers of America? I see that on TV a lot. I will pass the info onto my daughter to pass on. Isn't the computer wonderful? We get contact with people we would NEVER have known without this technology ;)

My father had lung and brain cancer and there is a medical center in dallas texas called md anderson that has new technology that has been successful. Also cancer will kill your immune system so you have to feed your body healthy food and vitamins. Praying for healing!

Received this just this morning--boy, how things change in just a day or two:







Went in for my daily shot yesterday and got some disappointing & upsetting news. My Brain MRI results came in from last Friday and it was not a good report. Another cancer cell showed up, the one that disappeared, reappeared and has grown. The others that that had shrunk have also grown in size. Dr. Vafai recommends radiation very soon. I knew this was a bridge we were going to have to cross, but after the previous MRI being so good, this news from yesterday threw me for a loop and a total meltdown. Couldn't stop the tears, but I am better today. Ed is coming back out here tomorrow (Thursday) & is staying out here with me. We have to decide where my radiation treatments are going to be done, because those can't be done some here & some there. The big question is how soon to get started on those treatments? There is a good chance I just may be going back to Eau Claire. Will know more once the E.C. Doctors see the report and the radiologist out here sees it as well. The radiologist here is on vacation this week and I can't get in to see her until Tuesday. Ed does not want to wait, he wants everything done yesterday. Wish I could have sent you some better news, but it is what it is and I have to move forward on this. Will keep you posted and in the loop of things for sure. So I just keep praying for that miracle.

Hi mom, here's an update from Teigan (Linda's friend). I haven't heard from Rock yet...Please

thank yourself and all the ladies for their prayers; and to keep them coming.





Well she just went through 3 more days of chemo and weathered it very well, it

has not made her sick. She is losing her hair and bought a wig, but other than

that she is keeping her strength up and has even gained a few pounds, she is

almost 100 lbs now. Everyone is feeding her quite well to help her gain weight

in case she needs radiation down the road. She has cut sugar from her diet as we

found that sugar actually feeds cancer. Her last Cat Scan showed that the cancer

in the brain is shrinking without radiation, that really surprised her doctor

because chemo doesn't usually have any effect on the brain cancer. So we keep

praying that God grants her the miracle she needs to survive. I've been gone for

three weeks in Mexico and won't be back for another two weeks, but I stay in

contact with her on FB everyday. So far so good. Thank you all for your prayers

and please keep them coming, I truly believe that God is listening and keeping

her strong.



God is listening to our hearts' cries, please continue!

I'm sorry for your loss, Linda, losing a friend is difficult. I didn't know Joni had breast cancer--on top of everything she deals with! I pray God be with HER, as she ministers to so many others.



I will tell my daughter about her book and she can relay the information on.

We will keep her in our prayers. I know how difficult this is personally. I am still mourning my friend Tami who died from cancer last year. Both she and her husband found great comfort in Joni Erickson's book "A Place of Healing". If you know Joni, she has been a quadriplegic since 1967...and on top of that, she currently has breast cancer. She is a truly amazing woman, and it is a very good book. Tami's husband is still reading excerpts of this book to the youth group kids, even though his wife is with Jesus now.

Thank you, Lorraine, for your prayers. We do not personally know this lady, her friend posted these comments on the blog 'Sodahead' that my daughter belongs to. This does not diminish the prayers we are sending her way, but I didn't want you wasting good prayers on me that should be going elsewhere ;)

Will be praying for your friend. I can not imagine what you may be going through because you guys seems pretty close and i can not even imagine what she and her husband is going through.



Lately i have found my self praying for people with cancer in my morning prays and i found it was strange but i guess God knows why.



Please let her know " though we may not understand the plans he has for us our life is in his hands and through the eyes of faith we can clearly see God is good he is so good all the time". This is a song i kept in my heart when i reached close to death door, in some strange way it comforted me so i hope it does the same for your friend.

Another update. Please keep this family and friends in your prayers. I totally believe God can heal this woman, but His will trumps our desires. Whatever His will is, we will accept.





Further update on my Friend Linda. Linda's husband spoke to mine last night. He

told him he spoke to the doctor alone while she was getting chemo. Linda is not

going to make it, the cancer is too agressive to stop, he is taking her home to

Wisc. to be with family. She does not know. It could only be a matter of months.





I don't understand how something that just started growing months ago can grow

so fast and end a life so quickly.





Please pray for her family and her friends, this is so hard. I don't want to let

her go. I have to go now, I'm taking her to chemo today. I want to spend as much

time with her as possible before he takes her home, I am afraid that I may not

see her again. This hurts so bad.

The update I got today:







Teigan is the cancer one – she said she went to the doctor’s yesterday with her friend and they found brain cancer (in addition to the lung cancer). She had her first round of chemo yesterday, which Teigan said she handled pretty well, but, they were concerned about radiation too given her weight (110 lbs). Her husband is now at least with her; and right now, that’s all I know…



We know God can heal this situation--no matter how it works out. Thank you all for praying.

Anne, this is the update I just got:



Thank you Randice, she needs all the prayers she can get now. We met with a doctor today, her type of cancer is inoperable because it is aggressive and can be released and spread quickly. She is scheduled to start Chemo tomorrow and two more times this week. They have to decide whether to finish the chemo before they start radiation, he's leaning toward doing the chemo first because he is concerned that she is way too thin (94 lbs) to tolerate both of them together. He also sent us to get a MRI on the brain because this cancer likes to attack the brain and that would change the entire picture in regards to treatment. She was too emotional to talk to her husband so she handed me the phone, I had a terrible time choking back the tears in order to fill him in. I was so relieve when he said he would be on a plane tomorrow because I don't want her to sit home alone at night dwelling on what is to come. They told her that she would lose her hair, I laughed when she tried bravely to lighten things up by complaining about how she had just spent 135 dollars on her perm. LOL All we can do is pray and make sure that she doesn't have to go through this alone. She needs all the prayers she can get. Thank your mom as well for adding her to the prayer list

Prayers for your friend Carla - and also your husband.



Don't know much about lung cancer - but it's quite common where I come from. Ex-husband's brother succumbed to it about 9 years ago but it's not necessarily a death sentence on everyone that develops it.



As with all cancers, women have a better survival rate than men.



Don't know what questions you might ask the doctor - apart from the obvious ones - asking which recommended treatments, medicines and lifestyles will combat the problem most effectively.
