Linda do not give up on your mom and PT. My older sister was in the hospital over 90 days, and most of that time she was flat on her back. LONG STORY, BUT God Is HEALING my sister.

This are some of the verses that I have been Praying over her (Long distance because I live in MI and She lives In FL) I have also asked several people that I know are Prayer Warriors to Pray these verses over her. With in about 4 days her health turned around. I know it was God's Healing touch, so I wanted to share these verses with you.

These are some of the verses that I have Praying in her behalf: Matthew 9:22 Palms 30:2 Isaiah 53:5
Acts 53:5 Psalms 22:19 Isaiah 40:31

Thanks Father for you work in Linda and her mother's lives. Thanks that you know better than us. Thanks that we can see your hand in this situation. Help Linda to keep on walking with you and trusting you and bringing everything to you in prayer. Give her your peace.

I live in the UK - what's the equivalent of 10:30 am (Eastern Time Zone) in Greenwich Mean Time?

God knows us very well, doesn't He, Linda? He will take care of Mama, you need to take care of yourself. I know that's difficult to do, when you are the giving sort, so sometimes He puts us down a while for our own good. I love how He watches out for us :)

Unfortunately, they stopped the physical therapy because she wasn't making progress. However, I did get an additional 5 weeks of therapy beyond what they said they would do, so thank you, everyone, for your prayers. She still can only put 50% weight on her leg because her bone is growing so slowly due to her age and osteoporosis. They will not start physical therapy up again until she can put 100% weight on her leg so please pray for bone growth. God is sovereign. He knew I would not be able to continue to go down to physical therapy this past fall because of the health problems I would have--which put me out of commission for a few weeks. I'm better now and she has another doctor's appt next week, so I'm hoping there will be improvement.

Linda I thought of something when I was Praying for you and your mom this morning. TRy to riming the Head Nurse to give your mom a pain pill about 20-30 minutes before she is due to go to PT. I know that really helped me want to work harder at PT when I did not start already in a lot of Pain. I hope this helps.

Linda, I'm praying for your mother. I work with people who have various disabilities and illnesses and I know how hard this is for the patient and for the carers. Physical therapy is called "Physiotherapy" in the UK. We see lots of Physiotherapists during our work hours who come to work with our clients. To carry out the exercise routines requires some commitment from the patient - even when they haven't got Alzheimers as well. Perhaps they could make a game of it like Jane describes?

Linda having gone through 2 total hip replacements I know how hard rehab can be with out the added problems your mom is going through! Yes I will make it a habit of Praying for you and your mom at 10:30 EST. This will be easy because I live in MI and we are on EST.

We went through this same thing with my mother, until we lost her September 11 of this year. She forgot she broke her leg, she forgot she couldn't walk, and she forgot she also broke her shoulder. However, they were able to get her to do physical therapy for a while at least by making it a game.

Something to consider is hospice. If her doctor is willing to state that she needs hospice care (which she might if she won't be walking ever again) then medicare will pay for everything related to her primary diagnosis, which would be Alzheimer's. Hospice will also get more nurses checking on her more often, which can be a help.

We will add you and your mother to our prayer list. Let us know how things go.

Father, of all the diseases, Alzheimer's seems the most heinous. It robs a person of their thought process and is agonizing to the family. You made Mom. You love her and want the best, more than Linda does. We pray Your will in this, Father. What WE would like, of course, is complete and total healing of mind, body and spirit. And we know You are able. But when we are so close to the situation, sometimes it's hard to pray Your will, because WE want our loved one whole. So, come into this family, Lord, and bring about what You will. Bring comfort to Linda, that, after she has done what she can, to be still and know You are God. Touch the therapist, and let Linda's testimony touch his/her heart. In Jesus' Name, amen.

I will try to remember tomorrow to pray, but, sweetie, I am getting a little forgetful, too. God bless, darling
