I'm in the process of potty training my 2 and a half month old son. He's doing really well but I can't get him to sit on the big toilet. I have tried the adapter seats just the toilet bribing him and nothing works:( please any advice is appreciated. Thank you

I hope you mean 2 and half YEARS. LOL I can see by your picture that you do. :D My boys were around that age when potty trained them. To go #1 it was easier out side, but #2 they had to have a little potty. It transformed into a step stool, so that they could use it in front of the big potty once they learned. However I am starting early with my third and he is only 14 months, and hasn't yet learned the fear of the BIG potty. Now don't jump on me, I am not forcing him to sit and learn now, just every now and again,we sit on the potty and see what happens. He gets a book, or a phone, and sits and plays. If he does something I praise him, and if he doesn't I give him a kiss and say "good try buddy!"
I say get him a little potty if he doesn't already have one and give him a toy to play with, or a book to read, and let him sit and play. That is how I got my boys to #2. And when It happens, praise, praise, praise! Sing a song, clap, make a big to do, and do that every time, and he will WANT to do it. That is how I done it with my two oldest boys.
Hope this helps!! Good luck!

Many children don't care for the toilet because their feet can't touch the floor and it un-nerves them. Get a step stool to place in front of the toilet. Being able to keep their feet grounded will help them keep their balance and feel secure. Think of it this way: If you had to climb up on a toilet that was so tall your feet dangled off the front you would think twice too...

Oh, I just went through this with my son. At home he uses "his" little potty, but when he's out and about, there is ONLY the big potty. The way I did it was I SHOWED him it doesn't hurt and he won't fall in by actually sitting on it myself. Then I sat him on the potty with his clothes on, held him and told him it was OK. Once he got comfortable, I told him to tell me when he needed to go potty and I just sat him on the big potty. He freaked a couple of times, but I just kept telling him "it won't hurt" and "mommy is right here" - a little reassurance and he mastered it!!! :)

all kids work at their own pace. my son is 2 and he will pee on the potty but is sooo afraid to poop. he pushess and pushes but nothing comes out til i put his pull-up back on then like 10 minutes later i got a poopy diaper to change.. go figure lol. he will come around when hes ready. and for my son i used both the little potty and the potty seat for the big toilet. he did better with the baby potty. goodluck

I agree with Linda. Just give him a little more time. My third child was terrified of the big potty. He was completely potty trained, and wearing big boy pants, when one day we went to visit his grandma. I completely forgot to bring his potty along, and told him he could either pee outside or use her adapter seat. He decided right then that he wanted to be big and use just the big potty and has ever since. It was kind of funny, because for Easter we were at his other grandma's house and she does have a potty chair. He had to go really bad, but someone else was on the big potty. He almost had an accident waiting for the big potty, because he refused to use that potty chair.

I am going to assume he's 2 1/2 YEARS old, not months old! :) He may not be ready yet--my boys usually didn't toilet train until 3. Is he afraid of falling in the toilet? Is he small? You could just stick with the little potty seat for now if he's not ready for the big toilet. Will he sit on one of those toddler potties? Just remember: pushing too hard in the toilet training area can SERIOUSLY backfire. Be patient.
