Hi, I have a silly prayer request and maybe I am being overly concerned but I just need some prayers for my baby girl and her speech. I feel that she is delayed in talking and need prayers for her to start talking. Thanks

God is good, Nancy. Remember, He loves your little one wayyy more than we could ever think of loving them. Have faith, and watch your little one shine!

God bless, honey

Update:
First, I would like to thank all the lovely moms that were praying my daughter and I. I truly appreciate the love and support. Today, we had her 9 month appointment with her pediatrician and everything is normal and okay. What is amazing is after this post its like I could truly feel the power of prayer bc she began to babble alot more and even said what sounds like "babba", "mum". God is good and am very thankful for all your prayers and support. God bless you all!

Hi Nancy, My grandson did not talk until he was around 4, and he is OK.
I will pray for you as God is the only one that can fix anything that is wrong with us.
Take care

Father God in the name of Jesus I come before You thanking you for being a very present Help in the time of trouble, for being Hearer of our prayers, The ONE that we know we can always cast out cares upon. Lord I thank You for Your word and Your promises being Yes and amen and for the ability to cal on the name of Your Son Jesus the same nave by which we are saved. Your word says that You will perfect that which concerns us and that and we ask that You don't forsake the work of Your hands! Every good and perfect gift comes from Youord so we call on You, the Lord that Heals, the Lord who is Healing, Jehovah Rapha and we call on You by name and ask that You touch the lips, the tongue the mind the body and spirit of Nancy's baby. Lord she is asking for prayer and I do not count it a small thing as I know that You don't think of prayers like this as selfish ones! You be glorified in her daughter and her ability to speak, Give her an anointing to speak not only clearly but boldly for Your glory! I ask the same for her parents! God touch as only You can touch move as only You can move fill them with a fresh anointing of Your power Your Spirit I cast out fear doubt worry all of those things that would hinder Your perfect will and their focus on You and what they are called to do for Your Kingdom to be exalted! The One who called them is faithful and He will do it! I praise You for the breakthru and I dress this family in your full armor as You have Your way I ask that You would increase the hedge of protection around them and stay the hand of the enemy as You do an awesome work that will bring You ultimate Glory even now. I Praise You for it in the name of Jesus! Have Your way Your will is perfect and necessary! It is so. God bless

Wow, time flies! I thought maybe you were talking about your oldest, not the baby!

Our little nephew is almost 11 months and says 'da-da-da-da-' 'mom-mom-mom-mom', then a bunch of jibberish. But our family is very vocal, so I was surprised he didn't come OUT talking in full sentences ;) The da-da and mom-mom aren't directed to his parents, it's just what comes out, and I have heard that these two syllables are the first ones they normally say.

Each child is different, honey, so don't freak out until there is a need. Like I told you, my brother didn't speak til he was 4, and now we wish he was 3 again ;) Give it time. When she's ready, she'll talk your leg off.

God bless, hon

My daughter is 9 mos old and I know it is probably early and every child is different. She babbles but doesn't say anything understandable like mama or babba. She has her 9 mos appt. coming up soon. I guess I am just worried b/c my older daughter was babbling and saying more at her age. She does respond and look at me when I talk to her. Thank you so much for the prayers!

Shelley-Ann answered well. I will just add in that my brother, 3 years younger than me, didn't say a WORD until he was 4. He didn't have to--I talked for us both. We must have had some sort of telepathy between us. Once he DID start, however, we are now trying to figure out how to shut him off!

Pray for your little one, make a doctors' appointment, then trust the Lord that He is also your child's Father, and cares for her more than we ever could care for our children. God never makes mistakes, He makes us perfect in whatever condition we are. We, as humans, freak out if our children are not exactly the same as our first child, or our friends children, or what some book says is 'normal'. Love her, speak to her often and encourage her to communicate, either verbally or by even pointing. My granddaughter was extremely late in talking. She was 'diagnosed' with autism. My son, his mother-in-law and I would NOT accept this diagnosis. We prayed, fasted and held our little one up to the Lord. The school also started teaching her sign language. This helped soooo much with her frustration, because she could at least tell us what she wanted. Within a year she was talking up a storm! She is bright, funny and a delight.

Trust God, honey. Keep us informed.

God bless

Prayers is SO powerful but God has also given us specialists to help. Call your pediatrician and request an evaluation of her speech. They should put you in contact with the early childhood intervention program in your community. My 1st daughter stopped talking at 1 year 1 week old (she startedat 9 months and had 40+ words she used daily) I had her evaluated and at age 2 they started speech therapy. 9 months later she talked a blue streak and I wanted an OFF button. My 3rd child I has evaluated just after her 2nd birthday because she didn't speak hardly at all and they said to wait and see what happens. She has now decided that words work and she likes them. She is getting better daily but I may stil have her reevaluted just to be sur she is where she is supposse to be. A speech therapist can be a great thing for your child. You are her advocate and you need to be proactive but not rude. get her help.

Hi Nancy: First let me say that I don't think there's such a thing as a silly prayer request. If it's about our lives, our concerns, our fears, then we should indeed take it to the Lord in prayer. Isn't that what He's asked us to do? I will prayer for you that your little one is happy and healthy and simply choosing to keep you anxious and waiting to hear her beautiful voice!

You should, however, find out if it is just a delay or if something could be an issue. How old is your little one? I'd check up on age and development just to get that reassurance. My sister-in-law used to wonder the same thing about my nephew, until she had his hearing tested to ensure he was hearing well. He was, and now he's a chatterbox and so very intelligent we could hardly keep up. But she needed the reassurance that he was physically healthy and she got it. It helped alot with her anxiety.
