Prayer Request Please. Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) High Risk

Hi, we have been deemed High Risk for Down Syndrome. We have decided not to have any invasive tests, as we would not terminate anyway. I have been praying for God's Will to be done in my life & the courage to carry out his will. I'd like to get down on my knees & beg him not to give me a Down Syndrome baby, I'm not sure my family would cope. Though I know in my heart in his strength we would.
All I'm asking is you pray for us & God's will!

Since this original post was from January 2010, Kat Pur's baby will now be at least 2½ years old.

We went through the same thing, and opted for amnio so that we could have time to prepare and learn what to expect. Our son is now 4 1/2, cognitively high functioning, and brings love and joy to all of our family and friends. He has already been using this gift to change peoples' minds about the value of every life. Go see the blog "Noah's Dad." If your baby has DS, it means God has chosen you for tone of his special, loving, gifts.

There is a couple that attend my parents church who were told their baby had a tumor on his brain at their 20 week ultra sound. As believers and trusters in God, they delivered a PERFECTLY healthy baby boy with NO BRAIN TUMOR! i think it is so important to rely on God's will for us and our children and not results from an ultra sound. Ultra sounds arent perfect...and Gods will for us and our children IS perfect. Ground yourself in the Word and i will be praying for you! Hang in there sister!

Just to share some encouragement. My aunt was told that her daughter had a 98% chance of having down syndrome and they suggested that she terminate. She said no, and when the baby was born she was 100% normal. She is now 8 years old. I don't know what God has in store for you, but he will not give you more then you can bear as long as you lean on him. I will pray.

well you are doing the right thing by taken it to God,now that you have put it in his hand all you need to do is just leave it there and let him work it out for you ,because he will and he is able to do all things but fail us.MY THE LORD BLESS AND KEEP YOU THAT IS MY PRAY.
