Prayers needed for going back to work

I am a teacher and I have been on maternity leave for the past 9 weeks. My husband and I have made the decision that I am going to be a stay at home mom next year...woohoo!! However, I have to go back to work next Monday for 5 weeks to finish out the school year. My heart is not in working full-time anymore and I am not looking forward to leaving my little one. I could use some prayer that I will be joyful at work in knowing that it is only for 5 weeks. Thanks!

You are very fortunate Lauren! I think a lot of these things (our attitudes) are a matter of perspective. Yes, you want to be home with your little one more than anything! And it is soooo hard to go back to work when your heart isn't in it.

But, you will have an easier time of it and enjoy it more if you start looking at it differently. Think about how fortunate you are to be ABLE to stay home with your baby. Remember that these last few weeks of work can also be a release and a blessing. It is a time of transition, where you can say goodbye to the life you were living and look forward to your new life. Think about all the positive experiences you had at your job, with your peers, about what you will miss about working or the people you work with. Live those last 5 weeks with joy and peaceful reminiscence. And remember: there may be times when you will MISS working over the next few years! lol.

If you can work on your perspective and change your thoughts from negative to positive, then you will be fine and the weeks will fly by. :)
