Here is a list of some of the scriptures that I cling to when I get stressed out. I have them posted around my house, and written in a notebook that I can carry with me. I even have some posted in my van. God’s word is so important, it really does help to claim his word. I also play music constantly in our house; Usually hymns, praise and worship, or Christian classical music. Please add any scriptures that help you to relax and trust God, or anything that you do to help you when you get one of those stressful days.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Ecclesiastes 7:14
When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other.

Psalm 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:2
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Job 2:10
He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?"

2 Chronicles 15:4
But in their distress they turned to the LORD, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them.

Deuteronomy 8:5
Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.

Galatians 1:10
Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Lamentations 3:25
The LORD is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him;

Isaiah 12:2
Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation."

Hebrews 13:6
So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"

Psalm 56:3
When I am afraid, I will trust in you.

Psalm 57:1
Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the disaster has passed.

Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Isaiah 30:18
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!

Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Psalm 62:1-2
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Isaiah 43:2
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Psalm 121:7-8
The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Ecclesiastes 7:8-9

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 58:9
Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Thanks these are good. I have a few prayers of my own that I recite regularly.

Lord, please encourage me in my work at home. Help me to look past my less-than-spotless house and see my many daily tasks as opportunities to love my family and honor you. Help our home to become the strong, healthy place you want it to be. Thank you for the opportunities you give me here.

Lord, thank you that your works are wonderful, and that includes me! Help me remember to take better care of myself, so I'll be better able to take care of those you've entrusted me with.

Dear Lord, Thank you so much for my children and my husband. Thank you for dirty blue jeans and spilled cereal and the people I love who are connected with them. Help me to appreciate the special season of my life and look for small opportunities to be creative in the middle of the craziness.

Lord thank you for giving me my family. Please work in me today as I try to show them love. Help me not to expect anything back but to simply love because you loved me first.

Lord, Thank you for entrusting me with my kids, to love and to train. Please guide me to shoe where to start. Give me a vision for the character qualities you desire for my family(diligence? Productivity?), so I can help accomplish your purposes.

Lord, you have entrusted me with a big job in caring for my home and my family. Sometimes I don't feel up to the Task. Please give me your favor and your help when I am feeling overwhelmed.

I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth. Psalms 121:1-2

[deleted account]

My kids have memorized Matt 5:37, "Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and 'No' be 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one."
They are constantly asking, "do you really mean yes we can have....." "no means we can't?" and it would stress me out! I know it sounds crazy but when you are faced with this upwards of 30 times a day, it gets to you. I painted the verse location on the wall and now simply say when question, "Matt 5:37" and wait. They either quote it or look at me and say "Yes ma'am"

Here are a few I have shared with others and relied upon: Jeremiah 29:11-13, 33:3. Psalm 139, and Philippians 4:13

Thanks for these scriptures! I really needed them at this time in my life! I know that I should go to the Word when I am down, stressed or afraid. But I don't always feel compelled to do it. But I know that once I have read what the Word of God says about me and my situation, then the load seems to lighten up and even lift off of my completely. Thanks for the encouragement. I am learning and trusting God for encouragement from myself not just others. Be blessed!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 is my all time favorite verse and in times when I feel I can not do life anymore God puts this verse in my mind as a reminder and I can trust Him to to help me through everything.

Some other verses that really inspire me are:

Ps 139:1,5,7-13,15,16,23,24

I would encourage you to look up these verses and know God it with you in every moment!
