Struggling with post-partum depression, any advice on scriptures I can read for encouragement/comfort?

When I was depressed I camped out in Psalms. David was chosen by God to be king while he was a young boy. He killed Goliath and was promoted in King Saul's court and even married Saul's daughter. But Saul was deathly jealous of him, because he knew God wanted him to be king, so Saul spent years chasing after David trying to kill him. They would make up, then Satan would get into him and he would try to kill David again. So even though David is described as a man after God's own heart, he went through severe trials. His writings pour out his heart cries. His words echoed mine, and I found great comfort knowing that, even though he went through the valley of the shadow of death, he never let go of God, and God never let go of him.

Hang on, sweetheart. God is there, right beside you. Listen for His still, small Voice. He will bring you through.

God bless

Beth Moore has this amazing book out called "Praying God's Word." It's helped me heal from so much, including my post-partum depression. A few scriptures that she mentions are Psalm 4:1; 18:6' 55:2;and 2 Cor 4:8. Some promises that really helped me during mine are that "He holds us in His hands and no man can pluck me out;" "His love is greater than the highest mountain and deeper than the deepest ocean;" and "I am fearfully and wonderfully made." I pray that the Lord comforts you, holds you, and gives you the sleep, wisdom, and hope that you need during this time in your life.

If you see this, leave this form field blank.
