I was wondering what you guys think I should do if the values I want to teach my daughter doesnt line up with what my daughters dad or family believes in?? And how should I go about teaching her at such a young age..she is 15 months old.

I come from a Christian family also. My little boy is 2 1/2 . I asked my mom to try and find me a good childrens story Bible. I have read it to him since he was a little over a year old. It just has the basic Bible stories, very short and to the point for little ones with short attention spans, He loves the stories! Every day when his dad leaves for work, (that's the first time of the day when we can sit down and catch our breath) We sit on our couch, read one of the little stories and and then I would choose one Sunday School song per week to sing with him. That way we sang the same song each afternoon for a week and by the end of the week, he knew most of the words by heart! He loves action songs like "Only A Boy Named David" I wish you the best of luck! Just remember, dont ever let someone make you feel bad fro teaching your child about God ! That's the best gift you could give a child!

Remember, the bible says, and a little child shall lead them, what she learns now could even impact your boyfriend and family hopefully thru her or your teaching it to her. Children love music, start there, and maybe some simple reading of bible stories. In no time she will be learning and picking things up. I will pray for you, God bless.

Get involved (if you aren't already) in a church that has an awesome children's program. My daughter is now 4, and knows so much about Christ it blows me away. We read her simple children stories out of a beginners bible, and lead by example. We pray with her every night, and every meal, and sometimes she leads the prayers as well. As far as the dad is concerned he really can't put a stop to her going to church, or learning about Christ since it is in no way harmful to your little girl. Just keep praying about the situation, and lead by example! MUCH LOVE!

I agree about keeping it simple for now and pray about what it is you want for your daughter-God can change hearts.

BE A BLESSING. I'm teachinng my baby now, & she's only 7 and a half months.

I would suggest starting to sing simple songs with her like "Jesus loves me"...... that should be fun for her!!! What about your religion doesnt line up with her fathers?? My husbands family is very STRICT catholic, and my family is Baptist.... were not sure how were going to work this out, but we have decided to figure it out as we go along..... We have decided that we are going to let her choose, but some things that are very important to eachothers familys we have decided to keep, like how his family thinks it is very important to have the baby christined as an infant.... There are plenty of bible stories that you can teach her as she gets older too. You could even incorporate those into story time too!!! Just keep it simple, and tailored to her age and understanding!! Have fun!!! :)
