I walked into the school literally praying that this would be a good thing- I had just finished my parent/teacher conference with my 4th grader's teacher and it went off without a hitch- but Middle School- that is a WHOLE different ball game!
I was a little early so I sat down in the chair beside the room with 5 teachers in it- as the door opened a tall gentleman asked if I was Kevin's mom- which I wasn't- but he invited me in anyway- really- it's okay- I can wait!
I was a bit apprehensive to say the least- I walked into the room not knowing what to expect when I heard "OH YOUR KALIN'S MOM!!!" I wasn't sure if I should back away now or not but I stayed and sat down- the first teacher started- Oh! If I could just clone him I would! We love him! He is such a great student to have in class! I couldn't believe the wonderful things that were being said of my son- I had tears in my eyes.
One by one each of these 5 teachers made comments on what they saw in Kalin-and as a mother you live for these moments- but there was one common theme when I thought about all these things as I drove home that night- He is so considerate- he thinks of others- there is something DIFFERENT about him- He stands out.
For about 4 years now we have said a prayer before he goes to school- that Kalin would be a shining light unto others- that others may see the love of Jesus Christ in him. I know now that I cannot take credit for this- this is not me but Christ who lives through Kalin.
This now is proof that others DO see the love of Christ through Kalin. He is different and stands out- but in a good way. He has a love for Jesus.
I am AMAZED at how God can work through an 8th grader.

Amen and glory to God! Even as he gets older, remember that what has been deposited in him will be with him for the rest of his life. Keep on living and teaching the Christ-life, because this generation needs more Godly influences, especially in the school system.
Be Blessed!

Thank you for all the great comments. I was literally drawn out of bed last night to write this- God would NOT let me sleep until I shared this- even if it was just going to be one person who read it :) and YOUR comments brought tears to MY eyes! ;) Praise be to Him. Keep on keeping on- its the toughest but most rewarding job you will ever have and in the end if we press on we will meet Him at the gates with Him saying- "Well done good and faithful servant" :)

This brought tears to my eyes. Praise God. I can only imagine how happy you must be right now. My 7 year old witnesses to his friends at school and does his best to show them God's love, but he is 7. I pray that when he grows older he will make the decision for himself to let God's light shine through him as your son is doing. Thank you so much for sharing this awesome testimony of God's love with us.

As the mom of 2 adult daughters I can think of fewer things that are sweeter than to see others seeing Christ in our saved children. Often the "world" does not know what it is about our children that makes them "Different"

What a great Testimony your son is to his classmates.

Although the Prayer was not totally the same I also Prayed with our daughters every morning before school. Now that they are adults they still will call or text to ask for Prayer for their day.

AMEN. I am so blessed to hear when young people are shining so evidently for Christ. I pray with my daughters every day on the way to school too. When they were in public school the teachers always commented on how there was something special about them & how strong they were when it came their beliefs. I now have them in a Christian school & the teachers are still commenting on how strong a stand they have. Praise the Lord that He speaks through the mouths & lives of children & from their lips He has ordained praise. Thank you for sharing.
