Anyone used these with thier kiddos? My son is 10 1/2 ms and wants to be on his feet!!! He is pulling up, will try to step while holding my hands, but has NO balance yet. He pushes my hands away as if he does though! Crazy kid! He is wearing me out! :-) Most reviews seem positive, but there a re a few absolutely negative, none in between, I've looked at several sites. I'm not really concerned about how quickly he walk/doesn't walk, just suffering from an aching back and arms. I also don't like that when he looses balance because I have hold of his arms they twist around and pull. I am constantly wavering between am I going to hurt him or wil he be hurt from the fall? Any comments would be great!

I've never heard of walking wings. I had a walker that my family sent over from the UK. It was great. I used it with all three of my daughters. They just kinda sit in it & then when they wanna walk they have to stand up. My oldest was walking about furniture by 7 months & on her own at 9 months. My second was walking about furniture at about 7 months & on her own by 10 months & my youngest was walking about furniture at 8 months & on her own at 1 year. The way the walker was set up, a child is unable to actually walk unless they stand up, they have to take weight off the wheel for them to move. We would only put the girls into it for about half an hour at a time as way of an exerciser, you also have to be careful what kind you buy as some are very dangerous. Our was a wide square base, the circular based ones are more dangerous.

Hmmm... Ive never seen these before. I can't really comment on this product specifically because I haven't done any research on it.

What I have heard is that things like walkers are bad because it doesn't allow baby to learn balance by themselves, its basically a crutch for them. They actually have to relearn their own natural balance without the walker. This also includes too much aide from parents as well.

Babies learn to walk through getting up, trying, falling down, and getting back up. Yes, its a rough patch for a while when they fall often, but through that process they learn how to catch themselves, they learn how to fall on their bums instead of their head, and they figure out their own balance, etc. Most babies "cruise" along furniture before they walk on their own.

Like I said, I don't know about this product specifically, but personally I'm more of the "let them learn the natural way" kind of parent. :)
