Hi Everyone! I could really use an accountability partner! I gained 50lbs with my pregnancy, when I was already about 30lbs over weight. I lost a lot of it when I gave birth, but because of slow recovery from a c-section I've gained a lot of it back. I'm hoping to lose at least 50lbs before I get pregnant again, which we're hoping to try for another (God willing) this winter.

That means I have about 6 months to try and lose some weight! Which is doable, if I would stick to things. I get lazy and tired and don't want to work out, though I love my exercise DVD. I can't afford to eat healthy, but I need to start cutting back. I also need to cut out the cokes & candy! I have a caffeine addiction and MAJOR sweet tooth. I need some support. My wonderful husband says he loves me the way I am, which is nice, but it's not motivating! LOL I need someone to help me through it, who is also trying to lose weight? I think that would motivate me... if my partner is losing weight, then I need to keep up with her!

What a great husband! You are very blessed to have his love and his support. As I was reading your entry I thought we have so much in common. I do need to loose 50 pounds. I like Coke or Pepsi. I don't really have the sweet tooth (except when I am going to get my period) but I love chips. And before I got pregnant with my second child I lost 40 pounds. So I think we could help each other. I am in FB you can request me as your friend if you'll like. In the meantime, know and believe that you can loose the way, stay focus and work towards your goal. Having another child is a big motivation ( I know that was mine when I lost the 40 pounds before I got pregnant with my second child) And most importantly, pray and ask our Lord to help you. Remember that everything that is important to us, it's important to HIM. I look forward to hearing from you Blessings! Sylvana

Angela,

I have also started this. as well a good website to look into for various things. Thank you for sharing this. i also put you down and hope you don't mind. I only need to lose about 20 pounds, i know not much but to me it is a lot.

But we have to remember if we keep our eyes on God, all things are possibly!

I also started drinking mostly water... I have actually gotten to where my body is rejecting soda... I just don't enjoy it much anymore although I will have an occasional soda (like maybe one a week or less) and I don't miss it anymore now. I was pretty addicted to soda and wouldn't drink anything else. I think the major decrease in soda and increase in water have also contributed to the weight loss so far.

eating healthy really is manageable on a budget...you said you`ve cut down on cokes and candy...well use the cash you were using for cokes and candy on some fruit or baby carrots or celery or something of that nature. the processed foods and white flour white sugar products really sabotage things. try to get as close to nature as possible and the pounds will come off. my hubby tells me the same thing but once i got back into the gym and started firming up he told me how i was getting .....can`t think of the word he used but it resembles soft lol....and he likes me better firmer...which i`m not even close to where i`m shooting for but it takes time. there`s a website called bodyforlife.com and one called hungrygirl.com that i like. the hungry girl one is really informative on restaurants and processed foods and shows point values if you do weight watchers. good luck and try to remember you`re doing it for health and well being...not only vanity :)

That is so AWESOME! I am very happy to see that God is at work. I am really excited by those that have put me as an accountability partner. It has been nice to read the answers given. It helps me feel like I am not alone in the struggle with overeating and it also encourages me to keep mine going too. I would like to report that I am on day 17 (I didn't do any lessons over the holiday because I didn't get on the computer!) and between doing the lessons and exercising like I mean it, I have lost from 187 pounds to 179.5 so far. But I am serious about the exercise... I am making that a priority to get in at least 30 minutes of serious cardio (walking, bike, etc) Monday through Friday and taking a break on the weekend.

Hang in there ladies! We are all worth it and God is amazing to provide results if we honor Him first in all we do.

"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

God is Good!

This is wonderful i would too love to join i have many more than 50 to loose and well i could use allthe help i can get. I have been waling 2 miles i try everyday on my treadmill and a walk in the evening with my oldest daughter which i love. I feel better but i am seeing very little weight lose. my clothes are looser but the scale tells a different story. Yuck! I too love coke and choclate is my weakness. I have gone more than 3 days with out a coke, what a challenge! The closer i get to 40 the more important i think this is. Besides that i am sick of feeling miserable, and miss the joy of shopping.
put me on borad.
If God's not in it, it won't work.

When you said you can't afford to eat healthy it got me thinking about eating mulberries. Today I picked a bunch of them in my own yard, and ate them and it cost me nothing and everytime I pick them I praise the Lord. Here's the story:

When I was a kid we had a mulberry tree in the field by our house. All of us neighborhood kids would congregate there daily for about 2 weeks during mulberry season. We'd sit in the tree all day long sharing stories and jokes while eating berries from the tree until we were literally purple from head to toe. I grew up and moved away and forgot about the tree. 13 years ago, I remembered the tree and planted a couple trees at the house I was renting. 1 year later I moved away, to where I am living now. I discovered a mulberry tree down the block. I wished, then prayed that some day I'd have my very own mulberry tree. I began to notice them everywhere !! The birds eat them, then plant them everywhere. Now my neighbor has a huge one in his back yard. God planted it there and the biggest sunniest most fruit bearing branches hang into my yard.

I would love to help with this! I need another accountability person as well. I recently started using an online course called The Lord's Table which has been phenomenal. I am ten days into it and I am already experiencing relief from overeating and feeling a change in my body. Here is the link if you want to check it out. The best part is that it is FREE! The website is http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com/cours... When you sign up, it will prompt you to put an accountability person that your course responses will go to. You definitely can put me if you would like to. my email is angelaeichor@gmail.com

Hey Terry! I'm excited. I am a stay at home mom as well. I was home schooled, and plan on home schooling my little girl when she comes of age - as long as God allows me to continue to stay at home!!

I have the Turbo Jam DVD collection, which is completely awesome! It is a mixture of different fun exercises that really work. They are a little high in price, but completely worth it. I also want to start walking in the mornings and evenings with my little one again too, because walking is really good for you.

Amber, I will join you in beating down the pounds. I need to lose about 30-40 pounds. My husband (whose is also wonderful) also says he loves me the way I am, but it is not motivating for me. I struggle with chocolate and snacking all day when I'm home. I'm a stay-at-home mom and we home school. I work only two half days a week outside the home. What do or can you do for exercise? I take in more calories than I work off. Looking forward, Terry
