My favorite part of Easter is pretty well summed up in this story (I have heard a couple of versions, so bear with me. If you have not heard this story, then I hope it touches you the same way it does me.)

It was a smaller community. The primary's Sunday school class was getting ready for Easter. They had a new teacher- young, just moved there that year and was a teacher at the local school, but on fire for the Lord. Well, she handed out the plastic Easter eggs to her Sunday school students the week before Easter Sunday. The assignment was to find something that reminded the children of Easter. It could be a picture, a leaf, a flower, etc. Well, the following week, there were so children that did not have anything. The teacher took her class outside and allowed them to find something that reminded them of Easter and Spring. Every one came in all excited to show what they had found. One little boy was quiet. As each child began to explain what they had found, the teacher realized that the little boy was opening and shutting his EMPTY Easter egg. The teacher then called on him to explain why he didn't have anything in his egg. (Teacher was rather mad at this point.....he had had a week to find something, and she had even taken her students back outside to find something.) We shall call him Billy. Billy stood up in front of his classmates beaming. The teacher could not understand it. All her other students had brought in pictures of baby animals, leaves, flowers, and the like. Billy opens his egg, and proudly announces,"This egg reminds me of the tomb." The teacher realized that of all her students, Billy was the one and only one who had grasped the true meaning of what Easter was about. You see, Billy had severe Downs Syndrome and all the experts had labeled him as "slow and stupid". (This story is true, but I personally do not know who this smart child is).

Easter: so simple that a child with Downs could understand the real meaning behind it, but so complex that people still have a hard time comprehending everything it entales.

I realize this might be long, but this is what I love about Easter: the empty manager, the empty cross, and the empty tomb. Without any of these, Easter would just be about bunnies and spring.

I truly Love the Lord.  I tell my boys 2 and 5 months the story of Christ, the Resurrection.  How he died for us.  I am so bless to have my two boys.  When all hope and sadness occurred my God showed up and showed out and blessed us with wonderful doctors that got me through not one but two pregnancies.  Praise the Lord

I think my favorite part about is Easter is seeing the kids in our church say "I saw Jesus!" for Easter Sunday always follows our Saturday Easter event where Jesus visits the kids. :)

My favorite pasttime Easter memory - 2 years ago we had a boy that got sick on Easter Sunday and he had to stay home, but his parents came to church.  They came home with palm tree branches for we waved them in worship to pave the way for Jesus.  The boy asked what they were for to his parents.  And his parents told him they waved them in worship and then laid them on the ground for Jesus' entry.  The boy says, "Oh great! The ONE day I didn't show up and HE SHOWS UP!!!" haha, I'll still NEVER forget that! :)

The best part of easter for me is spending time with my family and friends.  And just the simple reminder of what Jesus did for ME!!!
